I think I know what is going on here, though it is applicable to all streaming services with plugin support. I know that in OBS you can hide your hack overlay as well as the modelling pending on the hack you use. You can't see the highlights, etc., and I guess that Valve is hitting down on this too. I doubt that Valve will kick OBS in the balls, they probably already talked with those in charge at OBS (and elsewhere).

EA's CEO (I think) also talked out loudly against cheats today, calling it the worst toxicity or something like that.

It is about time to cancel this anti-anti-cheat culture.

This is the same situation as with Destiny 2. The developers for some reason made it so that no application could hook with the game, even OBS.

The solution was also to run the game in windowed and do window capture, so I think Valve has done the same and just blanket prohibited any software to hook to the game

It will make many users unhappy, whether they are recording their sessions or streaming their sessions. Games because people add value to their own gaming experiences.

Valve can whitelist those, but it is obvious that hackers will manipulate that to mimic said whitelist. Valve could always allow an API library which could be leveraged.

As I said, it is already bypassed by the hacking community in any case unless Valve patched it since then.

Okay, it seems the hook is patched. This is only applicable to hacks that I know is open-source. People who want to get some ranks in, I would advise to grind now and the weekend

Project Infinity was patched today and still doesn't work. I guess the other top free hacks will also now be broken. This alone would eliminate most of the cheat base.

Yeah it's sad how changes like this hurt legit players and streamers, but at the end of the day they need to find a compromise between making it harder for cheaters and also still letting regular players enjoy the game.

Hopefully they can find a solution to whitelist OBS without making it exploitable for cheaters, which will be quite difficult to do. I guess for now it's just something that we have to live with, but I'm just happy that Valve are making real changes to combat cheaters.

I would give so much just to play this game even for one day without any cheaters. I guess we'll see how long this lasts...

Apparently Streamlabs work which is basically OBS without Studio but more creator orientated. I have used both, and I don't user creator, but my goto is OBS.

This is odd, strange that OBS is blocked, perhaps there is plugin issues related to hacking. I won't know.

It's now in the main build, no tweaking needed.

That setting is for testing new features coming to the Steam application, such as how your Steam library looks etc.

If you want to opt into the CS:GO beta version you would need to right click on CS:GO in your library and select "Properties", under the "Betas" tab you can find any beta builds currently available for the game.

Right now there aren't any beta builds for the game because yesterday's update brought the new Trusted Mode into the game for everyone, but if there are any beta versions for the game in the future you will find them where I showed you.

I like how Valve ended up with an anti-cheat mechanism which ended up blocking legitimate third-party applications. I see most hacks have now bypassed Valve’s AC mechanism.

The situation is so bad that players are praising Valorant’s Vanguard implementation where third-party applications are still allowed. Now that Valve is checking on third-party processes they can be deemed as intrusive as their competition like EAC, Punkbuster, etc. Valve should consider being more like ESEA and FACEIT, leverage a system which works, mostly. VAC and VACnet aren’t up to scratch in a F2P arena.

I see the most recent CSGO update only resolved the non-compliant application game crashes, whether this relegated the player to untrusted mode I don't know, but as the OBS devs have it Valve is simply blocking all third-party applications in trusted mode. Hackers already have a workaround or bypass, why OBS isn't doing it I don't know.

Valve Please Fix.

FYI - to check if the game launched in trusted mode and what's being blocked, type "trusted_launch_info" into the console.

I get this when I do it -

That dll belongs to Windows Defender.
