CSGO Sticky thread

Anyone still playing CS?

No. I haven't played the game in months. Neither am I playing any game now. Perhaps when a new operation is launched. I don't know. Valve is seemingly working on a new multilayer game, and allegedly it had some exposure at QuakeCon. It is apparently Deadlock, which isn't a secret, but not much is known about the game. There was a game played on LAN nobody is talking about. Valve at a QuakeCon, who would have thought? Is it true? I don't know.

Then another person said, not at QuakeCon,

but that is the usual rumours.

I guess it is true,

they gave codes to people at QuakeCon.

it would seem that Valve is possibly bored of CS at the moment. But then again, it was clear for a while that Valve hasn't been focusing on Counter-Strike. Very few updates happening to the game at the moment.

I see people all over Steam receiving Deadlock play test activations. It can’t be huge numbers, so it should be similar to how CS2 was gradually rolled out. Maybe targeting their Team Fortress player base since people are unhappy with that game too in its current state.

It can be assumed that Valve has a new baby.

I am not big on MOBA titles, not the third person hero shooter kind. Since it is a Valve title, and they are likely to target the esports scene in time, I have made it its own thread:

Deadlock

It seems that they are creating a data point on "snap tap" events. For now, it seems that they are logging its use, probably to determine its impact on current movement mechanics. Nulls binds can still be used, but not in most competitions.

Valve is going to have a hard time to get this under control. They would have to adapt their own mechanics to "snap tap" to mitigate its control over movement as intended. Making it bannable will cause massive outrage. Competitions are allowing the implementations by Razer, Wooting and Steelseries.

This or they need to remove spread (which contributes to making CS the game that it is) and recoil. Let everyone Quake it out.

First case opening on the account, or so ESL reports:

I can't see how this is true,

It is not that it cannot happen, but I have seen a glimpse at his inventory. I am quite certain he has opened cases in the past.

Anyhow, that is a +R10 000 case opening. I wish. The biggest case opening I ever had was like ~R35, lol. Though I have had two CS:GO Weapon Case drops which IIRC was around ~R250 at the time.

I know people here who have opened +R10 000 cases. None sold them on the Steam Marketplace, some sell on Carb.

This game has been pretty dead the last while. On my alt account with 8K rating I get games in about 4 minutes, but on my main that is above 15K rating its just all painful. Basically if I want to play I need to play on an alt.

Also don't really like playing lower ratings, its wild, lots of questionable plays happening and a ton of baiting. Might be time to get a rank on my actual alt and see if above 10K but below 15K is still playable

Lol. Now and then I would see I retired pro state that pro players don't HAVE to play with peripherals held by their sponsorship brands. In some instances it is true, but pending on the terms and conditions they IN FACT HAVE TO play with sponsored peripherals.

So... Snap Tap. There are some organisations out there which are essentially Team Razer, Team Logitech, etc. I see that some Pros are endorsing Snap Tap. Lol lol lol.

Valve, Riot... they have no control over their license. "Fair play" is not an equaliser.

Generally, I actually have no issue with these implementations, it is only that you need to allow everyone with such an advantage.
