Current Affairs section bans

So a person will never really know in an emotional thread whether or not your opinion is ban worthy.....Sounds safer to avoid that section.....or if you post, post a link and leave your opinion out of it....'cause forum mainstream will kick you out

I'm absolutely sure any opinion at all is no problem whatsoever. However, it's all in the delivery, which some people seem to have an issue with.

I agree. Many replies start very well and are well formed. And then the poster feels the need to add a "kicker" ...

And that's when the fight starts! :D

Yeah, kickers are there for attention seeking or trolling.... btw israel is the new apartheid ;)

Sounds like I should visit CA more often... Other than the Oscar Pistorius thread that is.
Just the Israel vs gaza thread... thats where all this is coming from.

Chip, shoulder much? Nobody is forcing anybody to be here.

you dont go to CA but you can make judgement on someone via their posts in that section?

As for the balance issue you have, you have two things to address. Firstly, you do not enforce balance by silencing or imposing restrictions on others.

Secondly, more importantly, if you avoid CA and dont post your views then how can you complain that its imbalanced?

You have the mistake equality to mean equal representation, when its it really means equal opportunities. You are giving up your opportunity to post, accept the "unbalanced" representation.

On point 1, the mods have their bias, you can see that clearly from their posts. People who post opposing views are flamed by the people who live on the forum and silenced by the mods.

On point 2, I used to post in that section but learnt very quickly there's little point. So have many others. Mybb is well known to be a haven for bigots and racists. That's a shame because the site offers good news and there are some awesome and really helpful people on the forum.

Awesome argument there. So everyone who doesn't agree with the racist drivel being posted should just leave? Than all that will be left on mybb, is a handful of racists and bigots

Point 1: nice story bro, for someone who rarely goes to the ca section, you know a lot about whats going on there.

Point 2: grow a thicker skin. the "flaming" here is some of the mildest youll find. If you cant get a thicker skin, there is an ignore member option for anyone you feel it trolling or hurting your feelings.

Coming from a pov where I used to mod and admin a forum, it's typically those who are more belligerent and resort to more foul play that end up at the end of moderator intervention. If you say that moderatorship here is one sided, perhaps come with examples and contact the site owner regards that? On the internet you'll find a wide spectrum of opinion and the role of a moderator is to identify harmful behavioural patterns, not pick sides. Perhaps link some examples you feel are unjust? I don't read much of this forum outside ISP discussions, but haven't found examples of clear foul play by mods yet.

Its the Rothschild! They are behind the banning and censorship...

It is all about who is behind you or who you know

I think you're missing the point. Hate against certain groups is tolerated on this forum. That's a shame. It gives all people on this forum a bad rep and when people read these comments they inevitably think that all of us of certain group are hateful and prejudiced in society as a whole. And that is an even bigger shame
