Currently using XP Home Edition, should I wait for Windows 7?

Windows7 is very stable, light on resources and easy to install and use. I loved XP but Windows 7 is a worthy replacement and equally satisfying to use...

If Windows 7 Business or Ultimate retails for under R1000 I'll definitely buy it, but I know that's highly unlikely. Once June 1st rolls round I'll either have to roll-back to XP or break a few intellectual property laws.

Win7 ftw!

yep yep very stable, i just wanna disable that little bit of UAC left in it (Vista drove me nuts with the UAC in the 3 hours i was using it)

I just need to get mine to work, how can we say, indefinitely ?

Love the Smooth transitions when minimising and so forth, it seems so stable - and starts up so fast!

Windows 7 Ultimate will probably cost more than Vista Ultimate :(

Or so Microsoft say.

Anyway I could never crack it with 7100. Always got bsod's in games :(((((

It's worth the cost IMO, I would gladly pay for a legitimate copy of Windows 7. There 2 pieces of software I would never skimp on, OS and office...

I can wait to put my R5000.00 OS on my R4500.00 laptop!

Er.

Depends on your PC. If you have more than 1 CPU core, a decent GPU and 2GB RAM or more, Vista SP1 runs smoothly.

Maybe a bad metaphor the fact is vista halves your systems performance
