The great thing about the Currie Cup is that we can fight among ourselves, never having to worry about a "second" team or anything like that. Kicks off next week so if anyone is keen to start an SB pool, do it. And the hell with Super Rugby. I am still bitter.

Go BLUE BULLS!!!

Province seems to be the favourites again this year, since they don't have too much boks on international duty and they have the most depth and experienced players available.

I'm quietly optimistic about the Freestate's chances. A good Super-series behind us may translate into a productive Currie Cup. There seems to be some good depth in Bloemfontein as well.
However: I'm a little worried about playing the Lions first up. They will have a point to prove and the Cheetahs usually take some time to get going in the competition.

I'll wait and see on two fronts -

1 - How the injury and loss-to-Bok situation looks like
2 - How the new coaching staff handle things in the first 2 games

I am really looking forward to seeing some of the fringe boks fighting it out to stamp their authority for the future.

Four things I hope the CC produce:

1) A flyhalf that can play a running AND kicking game.
2) A tighthead prop of international standards.
3) A Scrumhalf that looks like he could be a general.
4) A proper no 5 lock so we can build some depth in that area.

1. It's a shame that there isn't a MyBroadband Superbru pool.
2. It's going to be a WP - Someone else final (Probably Cheetahs)
3. Some part of me really wants the Lions to do well. I hope they deserve the Super Rugby spot.

Nice how he says "it's ok ball available" when the Griquas are lying offside instead of penalizing them

FFS! Taking the 3 was a mistake when we had such momentum. Terrible defence in the dying minutes though...

Nothing more is ever expected from Jason Jaftha. He is the most consistently useless ref we currently embarrass ourselves with...

I have an idea that my Cheetahs are going to have a bit of a SuperRugby hangover.

Not expecting big things from them in this Currie Cup. A similar looking side to the one playing today lost 46-24 to the Griquas in a warmup match last week.
