Sjoe - I'm sure I saw lots of WP supporters saying well done to the sharks....

ye 3 odd people on a forum won't make upf or the majority of the yobbos ..... especially those booing types or the loud mouthed, ref blaming (of all things) types at 11 or so other sites on the internet ;)

First of I would like to thank Jonathan Kaplan for being an excellent referee, you did the game proud throughout your career! You're up there with André Watson for me and have provided us with some excellent games! You could see the guy was overwhelmed with emotion at the end of the game which is cool.

To the Sharks you fscking beauties, you won this game on all levels, your best performance in this whole season! It was a pleasure to watch this game, I think I had like four near heart attacks, you lifted the roof in the pub and the floor was vibrating!

To the Western Province Stormers thank you for a good opposition side, it was a good game!

WP threw away the gameplan that served them so well the whole season and replaced it with "finals rugby". What a bizarre choice. Good to see my Sharkies actually performing in a final though. Nice all-round performance. Steph Du Toit played like a legend. The tiny WP back three looked like midgets chewing on Shark's ankles under the high ball yet insisted on trying that tactic. Madness. Lambie seemed a bit overwhelmed by the situation and fluffed far too many simple kicks. He needs to mature a bit or work with the team psychologist or something. I don't normally rate McCleoud (sp?) But he looked good.

Eish. I'm jinxed. But cured.

I'm a Joeys guy and therefore a S.Tvl / Lions supporter, obviously. Even after moving to the WCape four years ago, I remained loyal to the Lions, through all the pain and shame of the lean years, even when they were dropped from SupeRugby for those Southern Spears. Pub nights in the Cape are lonely times for a Lions supporter, maybe even back in Joburg.

Recently my wife's attitude has hardened and she's hinted at curtailed consort if I don't get with the programme and start supporting Province. Local is lekker, she says, even though she likes it when I talk foreign. Women, really.

Anyway, pressed and pressured from all sides, and not keen to forgo the use of marriage, I last week relented and mumbled audibly to the rugger gang that I'd support Province in the Final.

It's been a dreadful week. I've had to audibly verbalise to at least fifteen people that Province has my backing. This had made the Westcapers think I'm a one of them even though I still say Cape Town instead of Cairp Tone. I've also worked hard at suppressing feelings of betrayal and remorse with chocolate and beer.

At least I'll have the novel experience of supporting a winning side - something a Lions supporter barely remembers - because last year's winners are playing at home.

Well, to cut a long story short, I'm back to being a Lions supporter.

Thanks, Sharkies, for bringing me to my senses! Well done, I say. Well done!

(excuse bizarre autotsxt - typed on phone)

We watched the same game? I watched via a BBC stream and the British commentators raved how well he did and at the strength of his character with superb high up and under's, very tactical kicking as well as his drop goals. Strange indeed. :D

I meant kicks at goal, not tactical kicking.

Seriously? Together with that knobhead linesman they tried their utmost to find faults. I'm surprise they didn't rewind back to the changeroom footage at halftime in case one of the Sharks players spat on the floor.

To be fair, they officiated within the bounds of the new rules, and the infringements that they picked up were correct. Bissie's off side at the ruck was marginal as the ginger fat boy moved backwards and imo was no longer a part of that ruck. At which point you have to be really picky to call Bissie off side...

Pieter Steph Du Toit and Etzebeth must form the backbone of our team to win the next WC.

They both are extremely good players.

I was at the game and lots of Province guys congratulated me on the Sharks win.
Must admit I was disappointed in the minority who was booing while Lambie took his goal kicks though.

And at every single ruck thereafter there was a province player ahead of the last feet.
