After using Cell C for a couple months I have found that managing data usage is much more tedious than on Telkom 8ta.
1. Number one main request: Cut off data after reaching the cap. I have a R99 (5GB + 15GB) contract which I've just gone over by a few MB by not monitoring my data closely near the end. My monthly bill has come to about R180 for those few extra MB. Not so bad but it could have been a lot worse if I didn't check my usage for another day or so.
2. The knock on effect of not cutting off data when reaching the cap is that the 15GB night owl data is much more dangerous to use if not careful. Once the daytime and night owl data is used up you start eating into OOB which can go into several GB overnight. There is a way to work around this by being careful not to set up downloads larger than the remaining night owl cap.
Telkom 8ta is so much more pleasant to use because I only ever go OOB and spend more money if I choose to do so. With Cell C I have to always monitor usage carefully to not get a huge bill at month end.
