Cyberpunk 2077

TL:dr CDPR lied and tried to cover it up simple as that.

You don't sell a game on PS4 that doesn't work on PS4. Period. No excuses.

Now I just need to find out why my Cyberpunk on PC flatlines on launch...
Different issue but fine. Just stop with the “magic black box run all the other cool games” thing. It’s a gimped PC from a decade ago. Face the truth. It’s better for all of us.

kak man. It runs in my pc without issues; therefor issues must be lies.

//glass-castle it

The narrative that CDPR could have just ignored old consoles is silly. The game was made for them and while I agree they could run like a potato with much lower graphical fidelity the fact that R* got Red Dead 2 and Naughty Dogs had Last of Us shows how little care CDPR had for getting the game to actually work. GTA V on PS4 looks, feels and is a much better open world game in every aspect than Cyberpunk and Cyberpunk had many more years to get things done right.

//back to playing on PC :P

I’m not denying it’s a mess, I’m only playing it after January or February’s patch.

I’m annoyed with console gamers bringing their Jaguar CPUs to a Ryzen fight.

Which idiot is bringing an 8 year old Jaguar to a Ryzen fight? Lemme get a kick or two in

It really seems like CDPR should never have released Cyberpunk on last-gen systems. The Cyberbug apocalypse seems dramatically more pronounced on PS4 and XB1 from what I can tell.

How many people here having serious issues are not playing on a last-gen system?

I think it's too soon to call the PS4 and Xbox One last Gen when barely anyone owns a PS5 or XboxSX. The game was always fully intended to be released on PS4 and Xbox One as no developer spends years and millions of dollars developing for a user base that barely exists. They just messed up badly.

The game was also initially supposed to release in April and the new consoles launched in November. Why would they develop a game for consoles that did not exist at release day... There also wasn't much time spent on the new consoles as the patch to upgrade the new console gameplay only comes next year.

So much is written about how consoles are easier to develop for because the hardware configuration is standardized.

You'd think with all their testing they would have experienced the loading issues and lack of graphical fidelity and called off the release.

Unless they did get the loading issues and released anyway?

Just because the PS4 and XB1 haven't been last-gen for very long doesn't make them any closer to being current-gen.

I know literally zero people who wanted a PS5 or Series X and didn't get one. The only trick was getting a preorder in as soon as possible.

Cyberpunk is easily the best looking game ever if you have a decent PC. Having to cater to everything from an RTX 3090 down to an Xbox One S seems stupid to me. It should have been for current-gen only.

This game is excellent, the longer I play the better it gets.

The visuals are stunning in quality mode on the Series X. I am not willing to wait for the next gen version next year or whenever they are going to get time to make that version.

I am in Covid quarantine and this is the best game to kill the time.

Not sure how far you are into the game, but I particularly like the segments where you play as Johnny. The production quality feels like it's on another level...

Not that far yet, I am still doing all the side mission distractions.

Edit: Just remembered I did that ages ago.

There's much worse stories out there. This is one of the better ones. Not among the best, but decent enough. Sort of like a good action movie...
If an action movie is your idea of a good story, then I take it your profile picture is not meant as satire. But then again, normies will be normies I guess.

Bro you got me there. I didn't mean to disrespect. I can fully acknowledge that this game is but a candle to the sun of writing that is Mario, Pacman and Pong, the games of your distinguished generation. Don't even get me started on Sonic.

I'm gonna drop this game and go play those classics to get more cultured and be esteemed in your eyes. BRB.
Talking more like Xenogears, Chrono Cross, Xenosaga, Nier, and Persona. But I get it, your generation wants to play games that imitate reality rather than telling complex stories. I guess that's part of living with your parents until you're 40 and not having a decent job because you were born later and jobs are now a lot more scarce. You go play your CODs and Battlefields that you buy with your allowance.

Please give us a few examples of games you consider to have great writing/story?
Xenogears, Xenosaga, Persona 3 FES, SMT 3 Nocturne, Chrono Cross, Legend of Heroes games are decent too for the overarching story, the first two games in the Shadow Hearts trilogy, Nier and Automata, SMT IV, SMT Strange Journey, The Witcher 2 and 3, the first drakenguard and dragon age games, and the Digital Devil Saga SMT games were pretty cool too. I think the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne had epic stories too, but obviously you have to go searching for it by yourself, thus it's not traditionally told. I also liked the Mass Effect trilogy, but I wouldn't put it on the level of the aforementioned games.

We can beg to differ on what constitutes a good story. Everybody has their own preferences. No need to get nasty.

Just because a lot of people don't find Japanese RPGs as complex and interesting as you doesn't make them wrong.

I personally find anything that resembles anime annoying. Doesn't mean I'm going to attack your choice and call you a weeb...
