CD Projekt clarifies Cyberpunk 2077 Judy romance after modders unearth unused male V voice lines

CD Projekt has clarified Cyberpunk 2077's Judy romance after players found unused male voice lines in the game.

THERE MAY BE SPOILERS AHEAD. ALSO, NSFW!

Last week, modders discovered male V is able to romance Judy in the PC version of the game via a simple code change inserted via the console command.

Doing so means the Judy romance scene occurs with the male V body type with male voice over. Unmodified, Judy can only be romanced as a female body type and female voice type V.

Later scenes with Judy that are only possible after the romance scene is completed also include full male V voice work, which replicates the lines exactly as they're spoken by female V.

The NSFW video, below, from YouTuber FredrickFlower, explains how to use mods to play the Judy romance as male V, and includes the unused dialogue:

There are some irregularities when playing the Judy romance as male V, however. While you can see the male body type in the sex scene, V's hand clips through objects on occasion. Later, in a scene involving Carol and Judy, Carol tells Judy and male V: "leave you girls to it."

Some fans have called this "cut content", but speaking to Eurogamer, a CD Projekt representative denied this was the case, insisting the male voice lines were only recorded "so we could avoid missing something by mistake that would require future recordings".

"It was simply more convenient and easier for our localisation team from a production point of view to record all lines with both voices, so we could avoid missing something by mistake that would require future recordings," the CDP rep explained.

"This was done with pretty much everything just to be on the safe side although it can vary between the different languages.

"Judy was always only a female V romance partner and that was the artistic vision from the start, there was no male romance option cut from the game."

All I know is that the V male voice is terrible.

It is still the saddest meme I have seen. I highlighted a real issue I experienced within a CDPR public community, and I was swamped by comments particular to the meme you have posted.

Then again, fanboys are happy with sub-par products. Not my fault.
Who is going to tell this ray of sunshine that the PS4 might just be the sub par product?

so those of you that completed it, was it worth it?
was all the hype justified? or do you feel let down?

and then my million Rand question, will you EVER play it again?
or just delete it and forget it even existed?
100% worth it.

Going to replay the endings then wait for patches, dlc, add-ons, expansions.

Did I replay GTA4, GTA5, RDR2? Nope, with all of them I did not even finish all the side stuff and challenges as it was pointless and boring.

144 hours in and still enjoying CP2077.

They didn't start developing this game for PS5 back in 2013 did they? They also went ahead and actively marketed and sold it on the PS4 platform, not so? Thus they need to make the thing work, or admit they lied about it to steal some cash, and give all the cash back.

From what I have read, these guys only really jumped into serious development after the Witcher 3 was released in 2015. So possibly a 4 year development cycle. No wonder they had to cut so many things that was supposed to be in the game. A game supposedly as ambitious as CP2077, should have taken another 2-3 years to get everything in, this would have allowed them to only cater for PC and next gen.

Their biggest stuff up was announcing the game back in 2013. They should have announced it in 2016/17. They fell under the immense public hype and pressure as well as shareholders demands.

Cdprojekt red the victims

I did find this guy explaining it better so I get some of the hate. But still, 200 awards before release - FOR WHAT?

It just proves how much money is involved behind the scenes. When the reviews dropped on Dec 10, all the "big" names gave it a 9/10. Then you go read some reviews from other sites that were probably not compensated and you start seeing the the 6/10, 7/10 scores really reflect the "real accurate" state of the game.

Am I the only one who thinks Keanu Reeves did a terrible job?

His voice acting is not very good.
Every line is delivered in the same bored tone.
It's not new when it comes to Keanu. I love the dude, but every roll he has ever acted in he talks in the same monotone voice and delivery.

There was one film where he actually tried to act. One scene where he loses it is actually quite impressive. Can't remember it's name. It's the one where two hot girls pitch up at his door while his wife is away etc etc.

The two girls also kindly get naked for the movie - much appreciated by me.
