Let's be honest, we all know who should have actually played Johnny in Cyberpunk 2077
...
This is a shame because there already exists an actor who is perfect for the role of Johnny Silverhand. A screaming rockstar terrorist? Howling rage? Who are you picturing? No, it is not the stoic grace of Keanu Reeves. It is a flailing disasterpiece. The OG meme-man.
Look at it and tell me it instantly doesn’t make many thousands of percentiles more sense. Nicolas Cage would be literally perfect for this. There is no role he has been in where he hasn’t given it his all and subsisted entirely on a diet of the scenery. This wouldn’t even be the first time Nic Cage has played a ghost driven by vengeance!
I’m convinced that everything else would have played out exactly the same. The internet would have gone wild. If any, even more wild. It’s Nicolas ****ing Cage. Even the “You’re breathtaking!” moment would have been the same. Like, of course you can imagine Cage hooting “You’re breathtaking!” at a crowd. He probably just does that. He probably accosts random people on the street and says that to them on the daily.
The only difference would have been that a) Cage is probably a bit less expensive by the hour than Keanu and b) Cage doesn’t have a line of motorbikes you’d end up having to put in your game. So like, wins all around for CD Projekt?
The only explanation I can think of is that they asked Cage and he was already busy, ****in, carving intricate models of fast food out of bone or whatever it is Nic Cage does with Nic Cage’s time. Because if they didn’t ask Cage then every single person involved in the decision making process around Johnny Silverhand is a fool of the highest order. He was right there.
He was right there.
Keanu reached the peak of his popularity with John Wick.So just like Keanu in all his movies..
Cyberpunk 2077 bunnyhopping is a bug I hope they don't fix
Once you learn that a movement glitch in Cyberpunk 2077 lets V bound along streets faster than any motor vehicle, it’s even more galling that everyone in Night City is bugging her to buy their old cars. Yep, bunnyhopping in Cyberpunk is real, and I’m delighted. With careful timing, V’s robot legs can send her zooming. It looks wild. This is one Cyberpunk 2077 bug I hope developers CD Projekt Red never fix.
I’m jazzed to see this. I was already using wee ramps (like those alongside curbs on some roads) for boosts but didn’t realise quite how wacky Cyberpunk’s movement could get. Looking now, I see Cyberpunk speedrunners (yep, they exist – and not just racing to the sex) call that technique ‘edgerunning’. Clever wee nod to an in-fiction term for mercs, that (Edgerunners is also the name of the upcoming Cyberpunk Netflix anime, by the way).
I’ll definitely be looking this this bunnyhopping. I’m a huge fan of movement glitches (strafe-jumping and ramp-jumping made Quake 2 for me) so I hope CDPR don’t patch this out, especially as it’s a singleplayer game. It raises the skill ceiling without causing harm, other than perhaps to immersion – but that’s already shattered by bugs like pedestrians disappearing when you turn around or, as seen in this video, cars which appear on the horizon then vanish as you draw near.
Initial bunnyhopping techniques in Cyberpunk used the Kerenzikov implant, which briefly slows time when you dodge, but it seems folks are now going wild simply with a raw V? Lovely. Though there is a nice rhythm to the Kerenzikov jumping, as demonstrated by “Pip Lads” a few weeks back:
I do hope CDPR patch a lot of the other bugs, mind. I like Night City and its folks enough to play a whole lot even in its current state, but I can’t go anywhere or do anything without encountering some bug which makes it feel flimsy and silly. And I’d quite like to complete the sidequests that are blocked by bugs. Our Cyberpunk 2077 review called it “a big, beautiful and broken mess” and yeppp. I look forward to a second playthrough eventually, when hopefully the devs will have fixed bugs and maybe even overhauled some systems (to hell with you, disappointing and frustrating item system), the planned expansions are out, and memories fade enough to go in fresh-ish.
CD Projekt Says Rumored Cyberpunk 2077 Development Details are 'Simply Not True'
A CD Projekt Red representative has deviated from company policy to say that widely-circulated rumours about development decisions on Cyberpunk 2077 from a purported developer are "simply not true".
Posted on GameFAQs, a forum post claiming to include comments from a disgruntled developer made multiple claims about cut content, code rewrites, pressure from company executives, and the game's ongoing fixes, even adding the unexpected detail that the company's original Johnny Silverhand was inspired by David Hayter' Solid Snake and Cillian Murphy.
Responding to the thread on the CD Projekt Red forums, CDPR employee Vattier explained, "We usually do not comment on rumours, but this is simply not true."
CD Projekt Red has repeatedly refused to comment on rumours following the troubled launch of Cyberpunk 2077, making this a notable exception. Previously, CDPR had also broken usual policy to deny rumours of a final last-minute delay to the game.
CDPR's own media notes indicated that patch #1 is due January which could be anytime this month, now or later. As always, these type of things are subject to change. I believe they will stay on schedule as they have to 'fix' the game on older gen consoles. Apparently, from another forum I frequent the new and upcoming AMD driver will have further performance increases for Cyberpunk as well as a feature which may benefit the game and though I don't have the details I guess it may have something to do with upscaling. If there is going to be another AMD driver focused on Cyberpunk, then it is likely also the case for Nvidia. Will have to see.Any idea when patch 1.07 is landing?
Finally got a response from a human for my refund for gog 24 days later. Product is removed and refund is due on my CC in few days.
There was one film where he actually tried to act. One scene where he loses it is actually quite impressive. Can't remember it's name. It's the one where two hot girls pitch up at his door while his wife is away etc etc.
The two girls also kindly get naked for the movie - much appreciated by me.
Yes, but having paid with paypal and it was already outside of the 180 days for a charge back via paypal, I had to wait for gog to process it. Next time I will not be using paypal for pre-orders outside of 180 days for things just like this. You paid via Paypal?
Like Steam, GOG keeps the cash in your online wallet when you pay directly. Then you need to go through another process...
Stop rewarding this behavior? It's not hard.*cries*
Reminds me of Final Fantasy XV. All the really good games get rushed out of the door when they’re only a third completed. WHY WHY WHY
I almost never preorder. The trinkets in the box and the hype got to me. I wanted to believe.Stop rewarding this behavior? It's not hard.
You think this has to do with preording only? This is your fail.I almost never preorder. The trinkets in the box and the hype got to me. I wanted to believe.
