Cyberpunk 2077

The atmosphere looks incredible, the especially the crowd.
I remember running through Novigrad in Witcher, awestruck bow how real the city felt compared to the lifeless cities in Skyrim, and then you go to a completely different map and setting with an Irish motif and a completely different culture, and in the expansion to an open world place that looks like a fairy-tale France, and within that map is another world that makes fun of fairy tales.

I don't really have unfair expectations of how much you can explore or anything beyond what we can see in the game-play trailer, it would be unfair to expect the Witcher, but the gameplay trailer already speaks enough for itself to be hyped about, even if all we get is 20 hours of scripted content that looks like that, i`m happy.
 
I'm waiting for the official specs before pre-ordering, no matter how much I want it, can't afford upgrading at the moment.

GTX 1060 6gb
12 GB ram (standard)
Windows 7
Windows is mainly what I am concerned about, since it seems developers are starting to go win 10 exclusive

Will probably be enough based on how well optimized Witcher 3 is, but I like to be sure before buying.

You definitely want to upgrade to Windows 10. It's an improvement in every way if you install Start10 to bring back the Windows 7 start menu, and critical for game compatibility and performance.

It's also required if you want to sign up for the new Xbox PC Game Pass, and I highly recommend doing so. The list of games you get for R15 (first month, and then R70pm thereafter until it exits beta and becomes $10/R140) is incredible.

All first party Microsoft titles, Metro Exodus, Void Bastards, Rise of the Tomb Raider and many others are included. It's more than enough to never need to spend anything else on games save the occasional title here and there like Cyberpunk.

You should be fine as they have to target the common market. The game is based on the new redengine4 though unlike witcher3 that's based on redengine3.

Just upgrade to win10, jou can still do it for free.
 
For people that want to buy on 3rd party sites, CDkeys selling it for R677, I do not know how trustworthy they are in pre-orders but you save a bit of money.

CDKeys are legit. I've bought countless games from them, including preorders, and never had a single issue.

Just bear in mind that if you preorder Cyberpunk directly from GOG, 100% of your money is going to the publisher and you're getting a DRM-free copy that can easily be installed on other PCs in the house.

True, but I see on CDkeys it you use the key on GOG, so I am guessing that is kind off the same.

Already pre-order on Steam, but I might refund it, and purchase it on GOG.

haha is that still a thing? I haven't cared about the start menu for a few years now lol.

Even IT illiterates can't function if Office icons isn't on their taskbar or desktop, but ain't seen anyone refer to the start menu for as long as I can remember.

It's not the same if distributors and retailers are all taking a slice of the pie though. How many publishers release AAA games without DRM, without bulls**t tiers of perks, with amazing DLC that is actually worth paying for, spends a fortune developing a new game client that brings all your games together etc? CD Projekt Red are worth supporting as much as possible imo.

As a general rule, if any game is available on GOG then that's where I buy it.

I have plenty apps pinned to the taskbar, but the Windows 7 start menu is the most efficient layout for hopping around Windows.
