Was gonna buy it this weekend but I'm thinking the same now. Doubt i would play it through, then wait for the fixes and play it again.

Agree give it some time for bug fixes and optimization then grab it. The game is not going any where and remember you have a backlog lol

Disable all these, motion blur, chromatic abberation, film grain and depth of field
 
3 Hours in, and I am unable to fault the game, it does feel a lot like Deus Ex, but is definitely no Deus Ex game. It is a very rich game, and I think it will go down well in 2021, just that the RPG competition is going to be tight in the new year.

So far, except for the odd glitch or two, it is only the driving which sucks, the rest of the game is pretty much a A+. Also, after playing for a while it is understandable why enemies on harder difficulties are spongy, but that comes with the territory of grinding. Play on easy or medium if you don't like tactical gun battles going into it with a strategy mind. The stealth is very much the same as the mechanics employed by the Deus Ex games, well done and thought out.

The skill tree is quite elaborative, this is definitely for the player who wants optimise their playstyle.

I am going to move this game over to my new SSD, currently playing it on HDD. The load times on HDD is similar as I experienced by watching the streams yesterday, it is not going to add a minute to your load times, HOWEVER, some textures do fade in if the is going to spoil your immersion, but it is not that bad.

Currently, I am in the 60+ FPS in the open world, playing on an outgoing gaming PC and it is fine. If you are going to play on hard or very hard do know that more frames will give you a proper gun play experience if you can aim that is. Try to keep it above 60 FPS if you are playing on harder difficulties.

I was honestly shocked yesterday to have seen so many streamers play with those settings enabled, and I also realised that many streamers don't actually know much about hardware other than playing games. It surprised me, the average gamer I know knows a thing or two about a PCs internals.

I think most people just turn everything on and throw the sliders to the right as that must be the best settings... they don't understand what the settings do or how they impact visuals & performance.

Completely agree. 2 hours in and enjoying it on XSS.
 
Various streamers yesterday complained about how the bikes handled, but... since I got a Akira bike it is the best vehicle in the game, clearly many streamers don't play racing sims.

Got myself just a normal 'gang bike'. People should just learn how to use handbrake slide :)

As for frame rates - I am actually shocked. After the driver update I let Geforce-experience optimize the game settings for me, for the laughs.

Game runs easily 60+ while still looking pretty at 1080.

System:
i5 8400
16gig ram
1080 TI
SSD

CDPR really should have made film grain disabled by default.
 
I had one issue where launching from epic wants to install an older version of the VS runtimes, which fails and then aborts loading the game. I got around that by just running the exe manually.

Another issue with not being able to rebind f, so I had to change my default movement keys there a bit.

Then an issue where I had the floating trees, which I fixed by installing the newest drivers.

After that everything is running good (1070, med settings with HDR enabled). I'm probably 1.5h in, really liking it so far.

Jou yster......Havent played around in settings. You just fixed my issue
 
Anyone else getting horrible audio clipping with dialog?

I'm using an dedicated sound card.
