Maybe cdpr wanted to be the next funny man: You know the actual reason we play elder scrolls is for the meta entertainment played out by its bugs.

Might just be. After working on it for so many years, they might have spaghetti code. So every time they try and patch one thing, they break 5 other things and create more bugs. Probably the case given it was released in such a state.

Immersion breaking experiences thus far:

Crash to desktop, vehicles clipping through walls and barriers, vehicle AI is crappy (not a bug), being stuck in 'cutscene' mode numerous times requiring a reload of a previous save before cutscene. Vehicles driving around without any drivers, unable to complete a quest, getting out of a vehicle and falling through the map..

i9700k, 1080gtx, 32gb ram, 1440p on Medium preset at around 40-60 fps, averaging around 50. Needs optimization, or supply of RTX 3080's, which ever comes first.

However all said.. Im still playing it, its a good game, just ****ing buggy and it seems on console, its just broken, get a refund while you can and wait for the updates and specials which follow.

So I don't really believe PC players when they say they are not experiencing many bugs. Either they are very lucky to not have bugs or they are not interacting with the environment at all.
Well I mean you've got a few PC players on here giving you first hand experience.

None are claiming a bug free experience, but rather that the severity and frequency of bugs is not always the same as what is being painted by others elsewhere.

The way some are carrying on you could easily be convinced, not having first-hand experience, that the game is unplayable or impossible to immerse yourself in. I can tell you from my own experience that is not the case even though there has yet to be a session I've played in my 35hrs where I haven't spotted a few bugs here and there.

Granted, perhaps I have been lucky as far as "severe" bugs go but if so prominent surely I would have experienced some by now?

Here's a short summary of what I've seen:
  • 0 crashes
  • 0 progression blocks
  • 0 performance issues related to the game not utilizing my hardware fully.
Common bugs:
  • Killed enemies acting as if incapacitated.
  • Enemy AI either poorly sighted or too well sighted.
  • Difficulty in picking up items until re-adjusting character orientation.
Uncommon bugs:
  • Asset swaps
  • Confused pedestrian/driver AI (operating in a loop fashion)
  • GPS pathfinding not optimal.
Rare bugs:
  • Audio cut out from one or more NPC's
  • Lip sync out
  • Slow walk bug (appears to be related to not fully exiting a scripted sequence)
  • NPC animation delayed during a sequence cut
  • Hair not loading correctly during certain sequences in which equipped headgear is removed automatically
Once-off bugs:
  • The glitch effect during one of V's "breakdowns" remained until I had reloaded my save. Didn't know it wasn't meant to do that at that stage.
  • T-posed NPC's
  • A mini-boss fight that did not trigger when I took a certain shortcut while in stealth.

I just finished mission 9 The Information and started 10 The Heist and so far I have not experienced bugs yet, would love 10 more fps though.

I'm enjoying this, it's been a while since I played a game where it feels like 10min has passed meanwhile it's 3hrs later and you go '**** maybe I should eat something, shower & go sleep'
Same, the other night it was about 17:40 and I said I'm just going to quickly play for a bit and then eat and be ready to play Apex at 20:00. The first time I looked over to my other monitor to check the time it was 19:55.

Sony is refusing Cyberpunk 2077 refunds and urging players to wait for 2021 patches

As Cyberpunk 2077 issues on console persist, Sony is telling players it won’t refund their purchases on PlayStation platforms.

As per users on Resetera and Twitter, Sony is refusing to issue refunds to users that have downloaded and streamed the game on PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 5 thanks to the company’s long-standing (and infamously strict) refunds policy.

Instead, user reports and screenshots of chats with sales reps seem to suggest that Sony is simply asking consumers to wait until CD Projekt Red deploys its PS4 and Xbox One patches at the start of 2021. This flies in the face of CDPR’s own advice, where the company advised players to go back to where they purchased Cyberpunk 2077 to request a refund (whether that’s at retail stores for physical copies, or Sony and Microsoft for digital purchases).

So, 50hrs to do every side quest up to the point where I am. Only the Interlude is done. Level 42 / Street Cred 50. I still need to purchase 4 vehicles and then every side quest is done. I have 7 side quests in a state where it cannot be completed and I hope to see it resolved in a patch.

Like I said, that's your experience. Maybe you have been lucky. There were several bugs in that stream I posted at the very start of the game in the space of 4 minutes.

-floating npc
-npc behavior weird when bumping into them
-npc clipping through chair
-npc lips not moving when talking

The guy was just trying to play normally and look around.

I am currently running out of vendors to sell to... I would have thought the vendors to restock their purse, so either is another bug in my game or it is a silly implementation because things in this game are expensive.

Also, I had a mission where monk took me on a braindance trip for self-reflection or whatever the case may be and after that some of my game's inherent bugs sort of came right, still testing.
Just sell at drop boxes.
I never use vendors.

So I somehow able to fix my game (not even sure how), where my frames casually dips to 50 but it stay mostly around 60-90 frames which is perfect on high.

I have noticed this game I have severe GPU Memory leak, after 4 hours of play the usage of my VRAM has increase significantly and I was just barely getting 60 frames, a quick restart fixed that.

I am at this point where I rather want to wait till they fix the game, so far 30 hours in and mostly been doing side quests and I am playing on very hard. The issue for me:

  1. I want full immersion in game, I cannot slow walk and just take it all in. I am like speed demon on 20 redbulls. (I know you can get a mod for it, but why isn't this in the game itself)
  2. The minimap oddly do not zoom out when driving? I am going 180 on my bike and suddenly needs to turn and crash and get flung in the air. It's something really simple that GTA Games have for years.
  3. I think most odd bug I have gotten where one of the main characters clip through a vehicle and was hanging in the air.
I do not really mind all the bugs in the game, since Witcher 3 on released was one big buggy mess and in fact it is still buggy game, but the game runs flawlessly.

So I am hoping that they optimization the game? I watched a few streamers to see their performance, a streamer getting 60 frames on 1440p on high/ultra without DXR, on a 3090? He doesn't want to put on DLSS since he say the game looks blurry then. I was considering getting a 3080/70 just to play the game proper, but that kind off put me off for buying a 30XX series card.

The last person I would listen to for advice on gaming is a streamer.

If you use DLS on Quality or balanced mode it looks good. If you're going to buy and you have the money, get the 3080.

All 4 those things were present in the last 3 Assassin's Creed games. The more complex world one creates the more of these bugs will be present. I even experienced some of it in GTAV and RDR2.

Or perhaps your streamer was unlucky or prone to said bugs due to a, yet unclear, set of circumstances?

As I said at the start of my post you have a multitude of PC players in this very thread, ie. a larger a sample size. If the bugs were as common or as severe as you appear to think they are you'd have a bunch of us bitching about it continually.

Also note, I'm not trying to defend the game or CDPR. The game in it's current state is not acceptable given the amount of delays they attributed to "final polishing", but it is certainly not what I would consider broken (like the console versions)

He's probably turned up all the RT features and then tried to use DLSS in Performance Mode to compensate and left Chromatic Aberration on. That's a quick recipe for a blurry mess from what I've seen mentioned.

True , I've only played about 15hrs and no real game crashing bugs so far . Normal bugs for open world type game , but nothing that others have so far

Which one is a better open world experience? GtaV or rdr2?
