Cybersmart complete outage

Anyone else noticed that Cybersmart is basically 100% down.

Their website doesn't return a result anymore.
My fiber is still connected and I'm able to ping my first hop but everything else is completely dead.

Sad that an ISP in this day and age can still have a complete and full service disruption.
What is more sad than that is the fact that the call center says they have "degraded" performance due to Windows updates.

Ouch Cybersmart.
 
We have Cybersmart fibre and everything is working except for their voice and website. Busy downloading stuff from overseas as we speak and playing Battlefield 1 so it's not complete.

Ah ok. Must be Cape Town then.
IIRC their HQ is located in Cape Town also.
 
Hmm yeah, I didn't think to use another DNS server. Perhaps my loss of connectivity is simply due to the lack of DNS.

Ok well I tried 8.8.8.8, definite nope.

At least here in Cape Town (City Bowl area), internet is fully down as far as I am concerned
 
I am very much unimpressed that in this day and age you are unable to at the very least post something on your Facebook page, and tweet something.
 
Our cybersmart 50Mbps FTTB is unusable, same issues as above - can ping some local IP's, no DNS though.
We also have a layer2 circuit from them between sites that is completely down.

Also CPT city bowl.
 
Both are in Cape Town City Bowl?

If that is the case, it is sort of sad that it couldn't survive this.

Other site is elsewhere in Western Cape. All back up and running now though, think it was only around an hour of downtime, so not the worst in all fairness.
 
No reported issues Nicholas, what problems are you having?

Connection seems good now. All my friends timed out on my teamspeak and then websites stopped loading. Couldn't ping google DNS for a while. Rebooted CPE and after a few mins the connection stabilized.

For me there is again problems as well. Twitter won't load and I am struggle with PSN, especially the party chat on the PS4 is affected badly.
