D3 Crusader Fortress

I am stuck on T8 at the moment till I get chest to reduce damage by 50% so I can cube it. Also missing heart of Iron and Travellers pledge. Till then I will be grinding GR40 :(

Hey friends,

So I just started playin and rolled a crusader. I've dinged 70 and my mate boosted me to lvl180 paragon, but I only did my first solo rift this morning and cleared tier 1 and 2 in about 5mins each.

As luck would have it, the bloodshard lady graced me with: Jekangbord & Gyrfalcøn's Føøte. So now I've made a captain america build with blessed shield. Does anyone have any experience with this or know what sets I should focus on (and HOW to get sets as well).

Cheers!

I wouldn't aim in any one direction yet - find more set pieces first. So just do rifts and some greater rifts and see what drops. Gamble for slots that do not have set pieces yet - so gloves, shoulders, chest, boots, pants, helm.

Cool will see. What about bounties? Are they worth doing? What should I be doing to try and get set gear? Rifts or bounties or shard lottery or what? I did all of the bounties yesterday on Torment II and it took forever.

Basically bounties are for 2 things.

1) Unique crafting material to use for either crafting uniques at the blacksmith (Not many reasons to do this anymore), or to us those mats in Kanai's cube to extract legendary powers of particular uniques. The latter here is mandatory for at least 3 items, 1 Weapon, 1 Armour, 1 Jewellery.
2) Farming bounty specific uniques from the caches. Less mandatory really. RoRG (act 1 ring) can be used a lot. Just depends on your build.

So basically, if you have done a single round of full bounties, from act 1 to act 5. And you kept following the bonus act around when doing that. Then you should have enough unique materials to extract at least 3 unique powers. That is enough for now. Go back to bounties as and when you need those materials. Just do Rifts and GRifts from here on out.

Thanks for the feedback.

What it looks like to me is that I have to do a nephalium everytime I want to do a greater to get the key. Or is there another way of just farming greater rifts?

Nope, you grind. I did post on the Blizzard forum about the possibility of a keystone goblin, but doubt anything will come of it...

I have been using the captain america build with good effect, cleared GR60 last night with time to spare, but it is not the strongest build this season.

My character so far,

I used the Jekangboard and Gyrfalcon's Foote build for a while. Its really fun to play. Obviously it has to be combined with the Legacy of Nightmares ring set (100% damage per ancient item if its the only set).

Its a fun way to farm but tends to be a little glass cannon to really have high GR potential.
I'd like to give it another go if I can get an ancient Gyrfalcon's. It would boost the damage I had massively.
It would also be a big change from all the other crusader builds atm that does not focus on damage stats like crit and CHD at all.

The Invoker set is very strong but also not the best. It has very high toughness (450 mill+ if all the skills are up).

I'm currently trying out the LoN bombardment setup. It has great potential but I'm not very good at it. I've yet to clear the same lvl GR that I have done with the Invoker set.

Nice just did a GR68 with murica build :P

Sweet! I just got my LoN ringe set to drop this week. I've managed to clear a lvl 41 GR with 6 mins to spare, so I'm slowly getting my groove.

I think the murica build would be good for parties where you're not the only one getting hit. I've got an ancient jenkanbord, but till need the ancient gyrfalcon...unless I cube the gyrfalcon?

The weird thing is my ancient jenkanbord has only 4x multiplier vs the normal shield I also have which as 6x multiplier.

Starting to collect bits for LoN...what a mission!
Got an ancient hellfire with indestructible, have a couple of other non optimal ancients...
Don't have either of the rings though ;)

Grind grind grind

Ugh. I spend like 200mil to reforge gear to get gem slots, not realizing that you could click the ? to see if it was even possible to reroll that skill to a gem. It was not. :/

Also my hellfires won't give me gem slots so I'm hemmoraging cash.

Errr, I think all Hellfire necks now spawn with a slot? If you're talking rings then you need the LoN set.

Managed a GR50 with a hardly-ideally-built LoN setup.
Toughness is an issue! And that cooldown on bombardment ....

Hehe. I geared my guy up, did a 45 for the conquest without the rings/set items (although only barely)...then a 45 with all the set items in about 3 minutes, a 50 in 3 minutes, a 55 in 3 minutes...then a 60 in 14 minutes. Haha.

The jump in time once you get to your max is crazy. Suddenly everything really hurts, all your timers don't want to go down and you die 8x times. BUT otoh its really forgiving of lag, unlike a lot of other classes.

I've just managed to do a GR52 in under 8mins on my thornsader. Slowly getting there.

I've got the LoN set and about 9/11 ancients, but I'll wait until I'm full set before I do bombardment or captn murica build...I've got the bombardment belt but not as an ancient, so I'm a bit bummed about that.

EDIT: Just did GR53 in 9mins flat.

Heh? Bombard should be triggering every 6-8 seconds, the one on your skill bar is just a bonus
