D3 Wizards Unite!

Hi All

Wiz stats ar build around these 3 main factors.
CHD,CHC and AS.
Ratio's for CHD and CHC is normaly 10:1.
AS not higher then 15.

If you want to do the channeling thingy AS low as possible to preserve your AP.

I look at various builds over google and the above element were highlighted?

Comments please?

I'm not going into diff skill builds for Fire, Cold, Lightning etc.
Main contributing as pointed out by me are CHD,CHC and AS.

This is how I understand it... Weapon attack speed is normalized for casters.
If your weapon is faster than the base speed of 1 (i.e) 1.5 attacks per second then your channeling becomes faster (at least there will be more attacks per 10 seconds compared to the slower weapon).
The cost of the spell in AP is calculated from the amount of attacks per interval (lets use 10s still). So a faster weapon uses more AP compared to a slower one.

Attack speed enhancements on gear will effectively result in higher dps, but also higher cost in AP due to the more attacks in a given 10 second interval. So if you want to channel for longer and not having to stop and recharge then Attack speed should be low.

Good morning formites

See link below and make suggestion to increase my hit power.

I know now i can reduce my gems on inteliligence. Put in some "Rubies for health.
Any suggestion will be much appreciated.:D

- Choose an elemental type and stick to that.

Settle on a build you like and gear with that in mind.

Gems, put all yellow with Diamond or Pink one in head depending on build.
On Amulet - Main stat + CHC + CHD + Elemental type / stocket / maybe AS
On Bracers - Your Elemental Type, Main stat, Vit, CHD
Gloves - Mainstat, CHC, CHD, AS / Vit
2nd ring get a SoJ with your elemental type, Main stat, Elite Dmg, CHC / Socket
If you using a Disintegrate build, use the right elemental rune. Also a 2 hander is now pretty awesome for such build due to the arcane usage because of slower attack speed, but bigger hits.

That's just some quick things. Not much time atm

He is asking how he can increase his toughness, not his DPS (FYI @HowTo: HP = health points, not hit power - I can understand why a lesser mind would make the false assumption that a generic copy paste on trifecta + ED would suffice.)

So to answer your question, since the previous attempt was a bit of a fail:

In D3 most things scale via diminishing returns, that is the more of one stat you have, the less valuable each point in said stat becomes. Generally speaking, wizards roll with high All resist (10 Int = 1 All Resist) our primary focus would be to buff our armour stat (ie armour affix will do more for your toughness than the AR stat). There are some handy graphs online which illustrate the breakpoints which you should be aiming for.

...

You don't even know this guy. He is still a bit new to D3 and will get his wording right.

For you, no idea WTF you are still doing here. We've made it very clear that we do not want or are not interested in anything from "elite" cheating kids like you.

It is really not our fault that you are all lonely with no friends because of your personality, but seriously, how clear do we really need to make it for you?

So if he is talking about Hit points then why would you suggest armor? Armor aint hp?

@Marmite.
Don't listen to this cheater.
Do as Snowwar suggested

As previously stated, it is clear that he is a new member and may not know the intricacies of D3 (that toughness is a combination of things rather than a generic HP stat)

tl;dr

It is what he has inferred and what I was able to derive, unlike your circlejerk of clueless turkeys who suggested a diamond in a helm for toughness? AND TriFecta LOL! Laughable (wont even go into the non existence of a pink gem..)

Have a nice day

Marmite,

Do you want your wizard to kill things quicker or do you want your wizard to be tougher ie not die so quickly.

From my extensive exp as playing SC wiz, I say socket all Topaz for +280 int and concentrate on +armor on most of your items. CHC + CHD should be your main focus, followed by +Elemental on bracers. Get legendary gems and socket them in both rings and your amulet, and you will be a powerhouse that can melt T6 with the right set upgrades and weapon.

AfricanTech

Do you want your wizard to kill things quicker or do you want your wizard to be tougher ie not die so quickly.

I want to wiz to be quicker in killing but at least dont die when a Elite passes by.
I want to stand my ground when it comes to fighting mobs or elites.
That is why i posted my wiz char info. If someone has time on hands and point me in the right direction on gear stats.
I appreciate wat SnowWar is telling me.

Look below:
Disintegrate 10%
Familiar 10%
MagicMissile (MM) 10%
Meteor damage 12%
Arcane orb 12%

Elemental
Cold skills 18%
Fire Skills 20%
Should I concentrate on (Fire or Cold) or <----combine or (Fire and Cold skill combined)

For example:
Fire -->Maggic Missile -->Confilagrate
or
Cold --> Arcane Orb --> Frozen Orb
Or im missing the point.
