DA is losing support under Maimane: poll

I'm not sure it has anything to do with Maimane, but I'm sure it definitely has a lot to do with their failure to deal decisively with the racists and a host of other stupid decisions.
Personally I have lost faith in them as well. They seem to be floundering and wavering in their commitments to non-racialism and corruption.
Recent events have shown them to be indecisive and ill-thought out.
The first for me was that whole debacle with Agang.
Then more recently this thing with the woman on facebook.
Where is their backbone?

Lost my support before this guy arrived - by failing to deliver... and having various useless ward councillers in my area, and doing absolutely ****all about it it.

I'm not keen on a nanny state, and a party that bulldoze their way into doing what ever they want, we already have that.

Well, they lost mine with his changing the focus of his party from non-racialism, merit and accountability to racial quotas and seemingly the same obsession with race as the ANC, continuously isolating and painting his white members with the same brush. That, and the fact that he is a homophobic lay preacher. Doesn't go down so well with atheist gay ppl.

Good, those can go vote for Steve or the FF+

The true supporters of a united SA will vote for the DA. Me included.

+1

To all those who choose not to vote for the DA, who will be voting for instead? the ANC?
Voting for any other minority party would also count as a vote in favor of the ANC since the DA (and EFF maybe) is the only one who actually stands a chance of making a change for the better.

650 people polled..

I can only imagine that there is a large margin of error on those results.

So you are telling me, just because someone doesn't vote for the DA, they are by automation against a united South Africa?

Yeah... good riddance...old guard, making way/running away from ... new base. The DA is like all political parties, around the world. You can not trust them as far as you can throw them...but **** semi works where they govern.

Try to get that into people's thick heads!!! I said this in a different post a while back... We know for a FACT the current government is a complete failure, we might as well give the next one in line, that actually have a chance of getting there, the opportunity to demonstrate what they can do. It can't possibly be a bigger mess than it is now... yet people still ask "who should I vote for because DA this and DA that". Even if you don't agree with everything, it's the only chance this sh*thole has to improve. At least with the DA we have a 50/50 chance of stuff getting better, with the ANC it is already guaranteed to be 0%.

So you are telling me, just because someone doesn't vote for the DA, they are by automation against a united South Africa?

Under the current circumstances, they are against the realistic prospect of a united South Africa because they are knowingly wasting their vote.

No, I will probably reluctantly still vote for them, as there is just no other reasonable choice.
But voting for them doesn't mean we have to like them or agree with their current policies.
South Africa doesn't have much choice when it comes to good parties (but then neither does the USA - I would have the same problem in the USA - neither the Republicans or the Democrats represent me).

What a shower of shyte...

Go look at the exit polls from any of the previous elections and it reflects a totally different picture. They polled 650 people... shame.

My thoughts as well...

Other polls paint a very different picture from my memory.

Only thing about Maimane is he sometimes comes across as too civilized, too mannered. He should try shouting as load as Julius once in a while..

Nonsense. Opposition is opposition.

I find it concerning that given the current state of our country people would not vote for the official opposition.

Who cares if the DA has internal problems with a few racists or some fail to deliver. Let's get rid of the ANC first and then we go vote for those we like best.
