data usage policy on RAIN

What if you reach 1TB within the 7 days trial period like "my friend" is about to?

In my place i get speeds of around 60 -90 megs download on rain. Now i am on fibre so no longer use rain. But when i got my rain sim i used to leave it downloading all day n night with my desktop while i work on my laptop hehehe. A friend of mine hit 2.tb

That's the conundrum.

Areas with Fibre get great rain speeds as they're not as over-subscribed.
Areas without, which rely on mobile data, are dead in the water.

When I was in the UK 5-6 yrs ago, I used 3's Unlimited-Data. I had LOS to the tower and also got 50Mbps +

Then I think it was '4G for Free' - I see now they advertise 5G for free.

Anyway, check their tag-line:

Unlimited data
No speed limits. No data caps.
And 5G Ready at no extra cost.

When we say Unlimited data we really mean it. None of this “we’re so unlimited, but nu-uh, that’ll cost you more”. Or “jheez we kinda mean it, but at salty slow speeds”.

Nope. Not us. With our Unlimited data you can fill your boots, help yourself, be our guest. All at full pelt in the UK.
And we’re not just talkin’ 4G. We’re talking 5G too. Imagine bingeing with split-second downloads and almost instant load times. No need to dream. With Three, you’re 5G Ready at no extra cost. All you need is a 5G handset in a Three 5G location.

£26.00
a month, month to month.

Used 3 for over a decade before returning to ANC/Crimeland .. some decent package pricing, thanks to "real" competition in UK and Ofcom.

Still got my 3 sim, which I'll be slotting in as I land at Heathrow in next month or 2 to repatriate....

anywhere other than SA is resonable with their data allocations, 300GB, 1TB ect
just here people think data is some mysterious force of nature that needs to be so expensive.
bundles for 25MB and 100 MB called "large"

Been on the Telkom 1TB deal for 4-5 months now.

The most I have ever used in a month was just over 600GB. Currently sitting on 524GB for this month.

It's not due to a lack of speed since I get a minimum of 60Mbps and more often than not closer to 100Mbps or even above that.

There's only so much I can realistically use the internet for at home.

Yes, I could use 1TB or even more if I wanted to since I usually have 1.5TB or so to use as the data rolls over. The package is advertised at 1TB though and not unlimited so I'd expect to get full speeds up to at least 1TB.
