Is anyone using it? If so, what speeds are you getting?

Im busy testing both Decap and ODS's uncapped offerings (Thanks goes to Dean and Jason for the test accounts) but find it too slow to what Im used to.

If Datapro could offer a test account it would be a simpler decision, unfortunatly they're geared towards the business market...

Hell, my gran on a scooter with a memory stick is faster than Sentech's MyWireless!

Have you checked Out Storm Internet - scan the forum - they are also offering uncapped ADSL for much less than DataPro. If I'm not mistaken:
- R 1500 uncapped (static i.p.)
- R1 000 uncapped (dnamic i.p.)

subject to correction - posting from work and don't have time to scan the forum right now.

i found www.megaserve.net a few months ago, they also do it, they offer impressive local speeds that work well with our company, especially e-mails etc, and then slower international speeds, depending on what kind of price you pay, they offer home & business packages. they are also looking into the VOIP traffic and gearing to connect branches etc, which i might check out, but then we know that the cat & his budgy are going to be doing that.

Check out http://www.ew.co.za/.

There are 3, 6 and 9 GB options without having to use separate usernames and passwords. Also the bandwidth doesn't go through Saix and the contention ratios are better. It uses a standard Telkom ADSL line, just change your username and password. Sometime in January there will be an uncapped option and the company is working on a static ip feature aswell.

It is not a proxy or vpn solution...

Hi,

I'm looking for anybody that's currently using Datapro's Uncapped ADSL. I have it, but the international bandwith is basically slower than dial-up or than a 64kbps diginet we had.

It was however very fast in the the first week.

I think the drop came after we reached our first 3 gig usage from Telkom, whereafter it starts using Datapro's bandwith.

This is very frustrating, can anyone help...

Thanks.

Datapro has a support line, use it....

also, TheRodent is very vocal that datapro is the bomb etc, I suggest you look up his nickname and contact him via the site, however, a reply would be very doubtful, hence... call tech support on datapro...

you know... that phone thingy you pick up and dial all these fancy smancy numbers with? they have one... use it

dont use it... your choice I guess

noone,

o, that's why it's there for.....

Did that already without any luck so far, wil try again though...

I must agree with TheRoden, they had xcellent service so far....just hope we can sort this problem out asap!

My old company was with Datapro for 4 years - 128k diginet, plus server hosted in thier NOC.
During that whole time, the diginet line bombed maybe 10 times and it was always back up and running reasonably quickly - if not, they called to tell you.
The backbone the server was on was damn excellent - we definately overused our traffic allowance, but never got charged a cent for it.
The server borked twice - once it was hacked, Datapro sorted it out for a nominal fee, another time I messed it up (due to experience) - again, Datapro helped out for a reasonable fee - bearing in mind that the server was not thier responsibility, it was good service.

I Highly recommend them. I'd say 98% reliable :)

I'm now using Hetzner for hosting - but if my company grows big enough (Still a one man show), I'd definately consider hosting with them again.

Vat hom Fluffy!

Sybawoods this obviously doesn't include line rental right?

Running around, catching a cheetah (without a gun) is like resistance against Telkom - futile.
