How do you rate the DStv service *technically* ?

After load shedding ended on Sunday the 2A was constantly rebooting. Had to take it to Multichoice today for them to reset to factory settings.
 
Guys, who is ultimately responsible for the Disney+ app on the Explora Ultra? That app has been on 720p ever since Disney+ launched in S.A a year ago. Disney says I should speak to DStv.

Good luck. When I was wrongly charged for my free trial from DStv of Disney + , they both passed me on to each other.

But try both of the call centre's supervisors, you never know
Problem is you can't get to anyone senior usually, lots have tried.

Since weekend DSTV app not working on Hisense (VIDAA 6, 2022 U7H model). Anyone have similar issues on Hisense? Loads the logo then nothing..
 
The small Access package has become valuable to them, 37 movies on CU and these days 121 more on CU+ on the Explora. Quite a few recent ones.
I always feel like I'm looking at the b grade aisle at a video store when I look at CU films.

Which reminds me Dstv had a long ad for Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation for M Movies 4 about a month ago and it still hasn't appeared on the schedules.

Anyways:
I'm having a problem with the Explora 2. It looks like it has recorded the show alright but when you press to watch it, the show doesn't really start. You seem to get stuck between live play and the recording. You get a frozen image from the live show that you had on but the info bar is showing the recorded shows data. You press stop and you go back to the playlist and whatever channel you have live plays at the top of of the tv as normal.

Does anybody know what is causing this?
Is it a symptom of a bigger problem?
Is it possible to get the Explora to play what it has supposedly recorded, or has it recorded nothing in reality?

Me too these days. Some of it is Hollywood's doing though.

Nothing you can do, may be best to get your techie to take it in. All he can really do himself here is fix poor signals if that is maybe involved.
 
Online guide now struggling to catch up with mouse commands since yesterday.
Very nice, people, somehow make it even worse. Wow
 
It looks like our days on Dstv is numbered. On Monday I found that the Explora 1 had again lost the signal. This morning the Explora 2 was working fine. However this afternoon, a message appeared when trying to access the playlist that a installation is in progress etc etc. Rebooting via the controller didn't work. Tonight I need to run the generator so I'll see if turning them off at the plug and swapping to the generator helps.
 
No luck last night. I'm going to attempt to format it today. I see there are 2 ways to formatting the Explora.
1) Removing the power cord and holding down the p+, etc etc
2) I also found a youtube video where a guy walks you through a reset to factory default and format hard disk option. But I don't think he is using the same satellite option as us.

Edit: Update

I decided to try the first option, twice. It hasn't worked. Since we still have a signal with the Explora 2 we going to give the service a test run with just having access to live play. And see if it will be worthwhile to get just a decoder eventually. Or to cancel the service and finish with it.

I still have both my 2As (replaced with Ultras a while back) . Might have a bad spot or 2 on the disks, as a recording sometimes will stutter and then be fine again. Apart from that nothing wrong. I'm in Pretoria, so feel free to give me a shout . @KatieKim .. not sure whereabouts you stay ?
 
It's not so much a technical fault, but I've noticed that the embedded video player on the Supersport site is absolutely horrid. This is a screengrab of the highlights of the U20 Rugby World Cup match between SA and Argentina. It's impossible to watch in full screen.
