Dear OpenWeb - has IS gone shaped on us ?

Hi Necuno

Thank you for your publically addressed communication.

Internet Solutions has not alerted us of any shaping rule changes.

I will enquire with IS if these shaping rules have changed.

Kind regards
MrBEEP
16 days later and still no response.

please will you are grinding IS for this - it will also be in our best interest to exactly know when IS is shaping and how much of this shaping on exactly what.

apart from just having a "work hours shaped, after hours maybe"

I do not expect an answer on this from anyone.
IS international is beyond useless - getting to the point we are going to have a SAIX account for international browsing alongside our "uncapped" ISDSL for local at the office.
Pretty pathetic, huh?

i guess when you are a pebble in the pond you are not much felt with your little contribution to the company's finances

lack of response to a client's query shows that:

lack of service, lack of back bone and a slack attitude by both the company, the persons running and those working there.

it reflects bad on the whole team.

this truely shows one where a customer still stands today with even those who promised to be more service than just taking your money.

its now been 18 days to being promises a response - intial one was "ill get to you when my provider gets to me"

that is tardyness - lets all toss up an issue and wait for it to solve itself.

if you are going to do something do it properly if you need to follow up do it - don't just assume that the other party is going to get of their butts and start the wheel.

this is basic 101 customer serices...

welldone openweb and IS on being pathetic to say the least.

A real ostrich mentatility is being shown - maybe if I stick my head in the sand, it will all just go away.

IS must be shaping - let them just admit it and be done.

For that reason alone, we should keep bumping this thread and ensure that Openweb's name remains at the top of the forum with this subject until such time that we get a response from them or IS. They're probably hoping that we all get tired of posting in this thread and thus it would get lost in the sea of threads on the rest of the forum.

We are awaiting an official response from IS regarding this issue.

What needs to be pointed out is that IS accounts are sold by OpenWeb as shaped accounts. We do not advertise them as Unshaped accounts.

Tests reveal that shaping takes place during the office hours, with partial shaping after hours.

More information will be posted shortly.

Kind regards
MrBEEP

Dear OpenWeb - has IS gone shaped....

in the light of the closing down of Dear OpenWeb - has IS gone shaped on us ?

when can one except a decent reply from IS and Openweb ?

day, week, month, year, 2010, cheap adsl or DNF ?

one point though on the matter if i may - strange that one can easily put the hard truth to telkom or other entities and thread stays open, but not to certian myadsl beneficiaries...

..who has he got in his pocketsess ?

As per discussed in other threads, if an isp responds, the thread gets closed. Telkom NEVER respond, so the threads are usually 99.9% open.

wow, can you clarify that statement? If thats means what i think it means ... damn ... your opening your self there for some troubles ...

And btw reg "when can one except a decent reply from IS", from what i know (Insider Info), IS just do, they dont explain, or care, they have there way of doing things and thats it...
Only place you will hear official answers are when some ceo, or underling makes a statement in the press... Which unfortunatly results in any IS reseller getting shafted beacuse of the way IS works ...

Tina and Jonathan who works at IS has been giving me quite decent answers to my router questions which i asked them in person...

If you have a contact in IS then BRILLIANT, i'm not talking about individuals, i'm talking about IS as a company, official on the book answers reg shaped etc, not router questions.

I think this Necuno guy has nothing better to do with his time than sit on here all day trying to act all high and mighty. If you have such a big problem with how adsl in South Africa is run, why not start your own Isp, and show the other Isp's how good you are??

Damn, some people get on my nerves!
