How many of you have ever REALLY understood what actually happened in South Africa? Not read it in some book, actually grasp what happened?
Whatever this lady wrote is her opinion

Since none of you, bar my friends seem to know me ... and all make assumptions about me - why not by my semi autobiography- that will settle the assumptions about who I am and who I am married to. OK?
http://bookslive.co.za/blog/2011/12/07/deirdre-byrne-reviews-after-just-now-by-gillian-schutte/ IT IS AVAILABLE AT LOVE BOOKS.
One thing that pisses me off about the article by Gillian Schutte is that she thinks all black people need validation from white people to live their lives and practice their culture. For example, if a black person, like Zuma, wants to have more than 10 wives then good for him. It is allowed in the constitution. Polygamy is a shock and is still a shock to most white people and black people brought up and brainwashed to believe that black culture is inferior to white/western culture/tradition.
This woman just wants to make money. First step is to market her name by bringing up a very emotive topic that will get people all emotional and talkative. She wants people to buy her books and sadly people will buy her books and she'll receive the attention she craves. She'll be smiling all the way to the bank soon while everyone else will have heart attacks.
This thread irritates the crap out of me. I have to literally meditate to calm down, not because of any specific responses but the clear ignorance and plight of anyone. Whatever this lady wrote is her opinion, if you do not agree with it it's fine, if you agree with it, fine again. All I'm going to say, and certainly won't respond to, is due to the sheer ignorance of many in this thread I will ask...
1. How many of you have ever REALLY understood what actually happened in South Africa? Not read it in some book, actually grasp what happened?
2. How many of you understand the concept of cultural assimilation and how it was applied to South Africa?
3. How many of you have ever sympathized with anyone in South Africa's lower class, be it a poor coloured/black/indian/white person, or matters outside your boom gate don't concern you? Hiring a maid doesn't count as sympathizing, you needed a service, they provided you with one!
4.How many of you have even visited ANY South African historical monuments (on your own accord and free will, not a mandatory bloody school trip)? From this number how many have visited any Apartheid museum, or any monument that aims to make people aware of the realities of Apartheid?
If you can't answer any of the question above with honesty, or self awareness, you should honestly shut up and comment on something more constructive to your life.
These questions I pose to ALL races on MyBB, I honestly don't give a crap if you black, white, red or purple. I don't pose any of my questions to make anyone feel guilty. 20 Years, ANC or not I don't wanna know, just answer the above questions either publicly or to yourself, do with the answers as you please and stop being ignorant to the reality of why South Africa is where it is and complaining about black people attacking you, or white people oppressing you.

I don't see how different laws for different coloured people are fair, I also don't see why the tax payer should foot the bill for all his wives, not my culture so why should I pay for it.
.. which we, the SA taxpayer, paysLooking after his wives should be his problem and come out of his salary.

funny guys.
Let me put it another way...
Why after 20 years is there still this kind of discussion going on in SA society.
Oddly enough, I don't recall the black/white vitriol anywhere near this extent in our first 10 years of 'democracy'.
Two possibilities -
During the first 10 years it was a 'let's give it a chance' attitude.
During the second twenty years - and forgive me if this is not PC...
the whites got gatvol of the decay and wastage ( theft ) and the blacks got gatvol that nothing much had changed for them.
And as the government makes whites ( born-frees or otherwise ) responsible for the status-quo we are back where we were 20 years ago.
So, will some real leaders please stand the fsk up and get us off this merry-go-round.
It's easier to blame than to accept responsibility.
SA now needs the ANC and its voters to accept responsibility for the last 20 years.
