Default browser?

Does anyone use anything apart from Safari as their default browser on the Mac and what are their experiences? I've switched to Chrome as of this morning as Safari was hanging whenever too much Flash appeared...

So far so good.
 
I'm a big safari fan and since the last flash update flash intensive sites have been running a lot smoother.

That's what's weird for me - I open about 10 sites and if they're "Flashy" then I get the lovely spinner and Safari just sits for about 30 seconds. Chrome seems to have no problem. Very odd...
 
I am a huge Safari fan, but I have recently switched to Chrome. I would get a few seconds of beachballing occasionally (with some extensions etc) but with modern processors being so fast, it's simply unacceptable for me to experience any waiting or beachballing at all, so Chrome it is. Must say I am enjoying it, although I miss the "top sites" interface.

Ditto - top sites was my favourite feature in Safari. Guess it's back to bookmarks...
 
I use Safari. I don't go to a lot of flash-heavy sites, so falsh doen't bother me. What i don't like is how the browser hangs when you open a .pdf .
Otherwise Safari is good enough for me, as i don't like plugins.

I've tried Chrome and i wish i could switch as i REALLY like it but something is holding me back. (i can't put my finger on it)

I used Camino for a while, then moved back to Safari simply because another program I was using (Sandvox) is tightly integrated with it. I no longer use the other program much, but stick with Safari out of inertia ... but go to http://clicktoflash.com/ they will solve your flash problem :-)
 
Safari has full scriptable control via Applescript, and just feels more Mac like. Only problem is I have to install Glims to get google.co.za search, whereas Chrome does it already (grr). Their extensions support are great, in both browsers. I found Chrome to just be faster than Safari, even regardless of the flash slowness. Google have just got the faster browser. It's due to the tab per process thing IMO.
 
If it's only Flash that annoys you, get Click2Flash for Safari. It blocks Flash until you click on the placeholder. You can whitelist sites that you always want to see Flash on. It's also available as a Safari Extension.

I find it very useful and apart from reducing the beachballing, the pages load faster too.

For me the dealmaker with Safari is the Keychain integration and (via Mobile Me) the syncing of bookmarks and keychains across machines. I used Camino for a long time but Safari has matured to a point where it does the job for me.

I use Firefox!! I have to admit that I actually have not found the perfect browser. they all miss a feature I'm looking for.
 
Firefox got very slow for me, but to their credit, the latest beta is much much faster.
