That comment will only discourage other lurkers from contributing when they feel like they can add value.

Hahahahaha

Just makin up 4 lost time - Sue Me

Its Just I remember having similar problems with my Polo 1.9 Tdi sportline. VW stressed me out in misdiagnosing "Limp Mode" and told me I have to change the Turbo, MAF and catalyctic converter. I then visited Powerflow in Durban and a smart indian chap told me my exhuast system had a leak which was causing the Turbo to "Over Boost", so I got that sorted with a new silencer and my car ran like magic as of that being sorted out.

By the way VW were gonna charge me R27K for a Turbo, R10K for the Catalyctic Conterter and I can't remember the labour and MAF, but it was also absolute madness!

Wish I could partake in more "Posting" but I'm a busy guy.
Sorry

Got my car back this morning, a bit ahead of schedule. The parts were only due to arrive sometime today. Seems like they have sorted the issue, not that I could test it particularly thoroughly on my way to work. Will slap it around a bit over the weekend and see whether it's really good to go.

Hi guys sorry about the delay @messugga @3Gee i finally managed to get a meeting with the big boss and they do have a procedure in place at toyota for dealership mess ups....1st i asked about getting someone on the forum so if anyone has issues with any toyota vehicle instead of me that works for IT getting involved or trying to be the middle man you can speak with that person directly so they asked which forum it is and i gave the forum url....funny enough they only focus on facebook, twitter ect at least now mybroadband will have this option.

I will also add a phone number that you can use when you having these issues
With this number you get a reference number and this call is escalated to the dealer manager to follow up on every part of the job ie when the customer complained and when the job was closed
thanks guys hope i helped:whistle:

Thanks for the update

Now if the OP would update us... Or is it a case of ->
The worst part of all this is that when they do decide to give OP a new car, they'll probably subject him to an NDA, preventing us from feeling good about our victory against "the man".

If it is an NDA, then at least they've offered him something...

It shouldnt be legal to force someone to sign an NDA to get something fixed that they were supposed to fix in the first place.

Couldn't agree more. But if I were in the OP's shoes, I'd sign and get the hell out. It would be tempting to spill the beans though, especially if I sold the car, which I quite possibly would do.

Most modern cars have issues it seems

My stepsisters Tiguan turbo went at 9,000km as well.

My stepfather bought a Porsche Cayenne Hybrid - died after a few months and every sat scratching their heads because they didn't know what it was. It was in the dealer for 4 weeks.

My Volvo C30 T5 lost the power steering pump after 9 months

My uncles 335i died day 2 and day 5 - with a few hundred KM on the clock.

All covered warranty, but it's inconvenient

Your whole family has been cursed by the car gods. Did you, or anyone in your family at any point insult the Delta Motor Corporation 1992 COTY Opel Monza?

No - but you bring up something ...

Between us, we've 10+ brands - BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Volvo, Porsche, VW, Toyota, Honda, Ford, Mini and Nissan ... but we've all avoided Opel :/

I'm not sure if we've all actively avoided it - but it's actually never come up. I'll admit I don't even know their full product range.

Do they have a competitor for a Tiguan/small SUV?
3 series/C Class/A4?
Mini Cooper S?
Ford Figo?

With the GTI I know they had the GTC at one stage

CE-Scirocco-R.jpg

I took delivery of a brand new Scirocco R from Barons Woodmead on the 17th of March.

From the second day of ownership the car exhibited a Check Engine Light error. Two months and two opportunities to repair the vehicle later the Check Engine Light is still coming on. Over 600km of testing mileage has been put on a new vehicle by the dealer and they still have no clue what the problem is. VWSA refuses to replace the vehicle since "this cases evidence does not warrant a replacement".

I have wasted time and money and am paying Stannic monthly installments for my car to be parked at the dealership while VW thumbsuck and try to fix the vehicle through trial and error. Hope that you dont get a defective vehicle because its an uphill battle with VW if you do.

Read the quote below if you want more detail. I'm opening a case with the National Consumer Commission and making my experience public where ever I can. Any help/advice/comments would be appreciated.

I've also posted this up on facebook on VWSA's and VW Germany's webpage. If you could take the time, your comments/likes would be greatly appreciated to boost awareness of exactly what type of customer service we get from VWSA when something goes wrong. Thanks guys.

Pay attention to the difference between Germany's response and South Africa's... that alone says a lot.

VW manufacturing in SA are cutting corners left right and center with their supply chain AFAIK.
