Degrading Telkom LTE Uncapped speeds

During this time where speeds are reduced, Are you guys still able to watch Netflix and youtube in FULL HD (1080p)???

I know the T&C says that between 6PM and 12AM, they will limit certain protocols. But if streaming is also affected, than there is a problem as that protocol is supposed to unshaped

7pm to 10pm, cannot stream more than 360p

Not shaping. It's contention someone is downloading 100 gigabytes of stuff every night between 7 and 10pm.

Can't be if there is possible shaping

As per t/c 6pm to 12am that's their busy time
 
My speeds at the moment are okay (14 down, 6 up), but ping is really high - 280ms. Normally it's around 30ms. Why is this happening :(

Does a large number of people streaming at the same time result in the same problem? If so the LTE speeds will become worse during peak periods as more people sign on to streaming services.
 
If something sounds too good to be true...... I had a gut feeling about this uncapped LTE all along.

Well. Right now for me, the service is that good. This is only effecting a few users where the service is slowing down from 6Pm to 12Am. Alot of people i know that signed up are having no problems at all. My downloads last nite during the affected time was above 30Mb/s

I'm currently not in the market but my sister is and I must recommend her a wireless ISP. Problem is, she is the type of person who will make it my fault if whatever I recommend turns out to be crap. This Telkom LTE deal is top of my recommendation list, but if it doesn't work out then I'll be hearing it non stop for the full 24 months.

Glad to hear.. Telkom LTE is top on your list. She can sign up and test within 7 days, If shes not happy, She can cancel. Theres a 7 day cooling of period so YES you can cancel.

Mine was fine for about 20 days. Now from 8 at night I get 3mb download and 4mb upload. Can't even stream 360p. The rest of the day it is about 20-30mb. So beware.

Same.

I've been hooked up since October or so (northern suburbs though not an area already mentioned); this is a recent thing. Probably from mid-January: the clock strikes about 8PM-9PM (sometimes earlier) and I'm down from 70mbps to 3mbps. Even right now: every night. Picks up again from around 11PM-12AM.

Bigger problem is the ping though: it's currently about 70ms; which renders online gaming unusable. (It's 30ms or lower off peak). Still maintains the same signal (4 bars) and LTE stats: but performance drops disastrously on peak. It's probably contention.

October, November and most of January were mind-blowing. Since then: I'm failing over to my 6mbps ADSL line every evening.

I've been running speedtests every few hours so I can post a time line of performance tomorrow.
 
Hi Mate, just got my device this week, Poynting not installed yet, but speeds are terrible. Also in North Riding , Complex opposite Malibongwe, any idea were the Base Station / Tower is? Concerned about the installation because body corporate might dictate which side of the building i use.
