Demand uncapped mobile data, ISPA says

Just think what we could with 40MHz of sub-1GHz. Rural 30Mb/s for all!

Network is erady.....
Exactly. This what pisses me off when politicians or cadres get involved with technical issues that are beyond their mental capacity.

Vision 2020 or whatever, is a joke. Those targets could be achieved within a year if they knew more...

Have you seen those targets? The last ones, pretty much impossible. Unless government can find R80B for network rollout....

Lollipop

I want a connection that is always on and always runs at top speed no matter what and costs a nominal amount every month and an ice cream.

150GB is a lot, personally I would be happy if I get about 50GB and they shape/throttle it to 2mbs , at 2mbs youtube works fine at 360p and so does most of the other streaming too.

But in this country , it wont ever happen.

Cell C already has 200GB valid for a year. Though only a quarter of that is for regular daytime use it's still viable to have something like 1TB on LTE. I wonder if Cell C can do that over the long range bands like they did with HSPA. If they have 1TB which most people won't come close to using they might as well offer uncapped.

Proper, transparent shaping is pretty cool. You know what you'll get when.

I think my "limit" is 1TB- seen that in the fine print somewhere.

On LTE, that theoretically possible, but that's if you're totally taking the piss.

I use my connection reasonably responsibly, and don't feel guilty for the amount of data I use (balanced against minimal phone calls etc).

We killed OOB years ago with Advanced and no-one wanted it. I built on the back of this forum and a few people here used it.

That's kinda very poor solution for OOB, I remember everything just being more expensive on advanced.

What I want to see is that R2 default OOB which effects ordinary people that's been R2 for like 7 years now for now apparent reason get outright reduced to something like 50c. At least on prepaid because it's a pain in the ass atm. It's becoming near impossible to manage data anymore, especially with auto playing video ads and unannounced updates becoming the norm.

Also contracts that go OOB must scales accordingly.
Going from 10c to R1, that's a 1000% increase.

There needs to be more reasonable percentages attached around 150%->200% otherwise what's the point of going non-topup apart from opening yourself up to a lot of stress and very uncomfortable situation which can ruin you financially for months?

We do have mobile "uncapped" offerings - Last I checked Telkom Mobile had one.... I think 10GB usage until the speed is knocked down to 128kbps.... same for MTN...

I doubt we will get anything better than what MTN and Telkom Mobile offer, in a very long time :(

Network is ready.....

spectrum has become politicised...policy now by march 2016 and i have a bad feeling that we will see assignments in 2017 followed by lawsuits until 2021
