Odd question - is there a service provider that provides relatively good internet?
I have been without internet since 15th of December after my ADSL line was stolen, decommissioned by Telekom. Just before Christmas they phone me and all my neighbors that they would not be replacing our line and that we need to move to Fibre. There is only Metrofibre in the area so I have placed my order into Metrofibre, like a good little lemming, but they will only start looking at the order when they get back to the office on the 15 of January and then it will be 15 days for the ticket. I really need my internet for work and family harmony in general. I see that Rain has something that I can get that is plug and play. But I really need something that I can get immediately and is unlimited and as sum what reliable. Is there something I can get? Rather desperately.

If you have an LTE router try Cell C. It's prepaid

Getting fibre is going to take a while no matter who you choose. That being said I wouldn't go directly to metrofibre but rather cool ideas or one of the other isp's. In the interim rain, mtn, afrihost all have LTE options with month to month contracts.

Not uncapped but 1000GB for R899 which can I believe can be extended to 2 months.

Bummer - I don't know what the OP wants, beyond uncapped, but I'm looking to replace uncapped DSL (with higher speeds).

Guess uncapped will either be Rain or MTN.. Axxess up the road from you have good prices

Vodacom has uncapped LTE now but that's a contract and pricey. MTN has uncapped LTE but you need a supported router if you want it month to month.

Though if you don't live in a "historically white neighborhood" there's a good chance you'll get Vuma Reach within the next 12 months

Rain is a bust where I live - Axxess has Uncapped MTN LTE Combo for R779 but I'll need to have a look at their FUP - thanks!

Where about? Aren’t there any good fixed wireless solutions? PM me your area and I’ll be happy to check as well

Thanks, I'd appreciate that but I'm just outside of PE and according to your coverage map S.O.L. :(

We work with a bunch of 3rd party networks through our wholesale sister company (which don’t always show up on our coverage maps). But as far as I know, nothing that side of the world yet..

Telkom did offer me 3G lte while waiting for fiber.

Most uncapped LTE connections has crap FUP...like 100gbs or something until they throttle you.

Cool Ideas FTW

Thank you - looking into MTN uncapped and Rains 5G - Which is more reliable?
Looking into Cool Ideas.

Thank you - I ended up at Cell C. MTN was a contract and Rain can only deliver next week. So praying 1000 GB is enough to satisfy the family.

Don’t forget to MANUALLY do data rollover, it used to be done automatically by them but I guess they wanted people to forget and buy data again. So do data rollover a few days before you hit your first 30 days of the month or it will expire you’ll have to buy again, set a reminder if you will forget. It will rollover easily to the next month when you do it, and it’s not complicated. If their app fails you then put the simcard in the phone and do it using USSD, it works. All the best, I hope you do get nice speeds.
