Hi there knowledgeable folks

In an effort to get day time internet in the middle of nowhere, I have installed a wifi setup using 2.4 ghz to connect to to the internet through a wireless provider.
Sure enough my pings are a little worse than ISDN but the throughput is much better. The only and HUGE issue I have is that when I play my favourite online game City of Heroes I get disconnected every 10 minutes, thats almost exactly every 10 minutes.

I am using an Edimax wireless/LAN hub and I have set port forwarding for the ports that the game uses (didnt quite understand what the private IP address field was supposed to have so I put the static IP of my PC in). But sadly, this doesnt help.

What can be causing this very very frustrating phenomenon? Can anyone help me?

Please, very desperate here

Sounds like your Wireless provider to me. Take it up with them. Let them know in no uncertain terms that CAPS LOCK will come off and the ******* fury will be unleashed if they dont fix it.

They did say that they use 2 ADSL lines at their base to switch between for load balancing, could this be the issue? Does the game not like being switched?

When these people try and forward the game ports to one line it blocks access to those ports. What can I do?
