Diablo 3 latency

Blizzard thinks their server is getting hammered now wait until the weekend. It's going to get smashed from 6pm friday to 12am sunday.Am sure there is alot of people who is waiting until the weekend to play. That and all the geuss pass they give out with the game isn't helping either. I think we should expect some down time this weekend.

Going to try the following tonight

1. Change battle.net password - apparently this is a fix for Error 12 - really want to play on euro server which is where most saffers will be playing
2. Open port 1119 - suggested fix for 3007
3. Increase TCP and UDP values - error 3007
4. Reboot PC, modem, flush DNS cache
5. Open public chat window before entering sanctuary - error 3007 workaround

Righto,

Step 1 done - success, logged onto EU server.
Step 4 done - actually only the modem and DNS bit
Step 5 done- let's see what happens

Report back later.....

2. Reboot Modem - join public chat before starting game - goodbye Error 3007 - welcome 3.5 hours solid play

Got to go to bed now - work tomorrow...

I played 10 hours strate laste night and did not dc once weird

I'm getting booted every 5 minutes and have to restart the game due to "all players have not left the session" (I can't remember the exact code ), in single player

Might be stoopid question: I've only played an hour or so, and only single player. If playing single player, are you only affected by the overloaded servers when logging in/authenticating since only the character details is kept on the server?

No you are also affected by the latency. It's basically an online game. Even in single player.

I'm still getting around 500ms latency. I really hope they sort it out.

It's piss poor from them after forcing this online only kark on everyone.

sheesh I cant believe that people are still whining about the latency, get a decent ISP and just sit tight till things smooth out

its just the load thats increasing the latency. Play during the day while everyone is at school/studies/work and its like 200ms

Will moan and whine as much as I like. ZOMG like everyone must just play when the servers aren't busy... Mkaaay? It's simple Blizzard wanted to implement this system so they must simply make sure that the **** Works and they have enough servers. Simple. ;)

The high latencies are on the EU end. Servers and/or Telia infrastructure. Got absolutely nothing to do with local ISPs. There are guys in the UK with 30ms to WoW EU and 300ms to Diablo3 EU.

The 'peak' periods have also gotten bigger and bigger since Tuesday. I shudder to think what will happen on the weekend. Basically have to park the game now. It's sad because it plays damn well with 200ms, but feels horrific with 300ms+

im thankful my life isnt so sad that my world stops turning when game servers dont function 100%. I love gaming and enjoy it, but there are other things in life to keep one busy... well in my life anyway...

:)

we have waited so long... a little longer will be ok, promise. hey I sound like Blizzard

:)

Don't know what you are waiting for. There will always be latency and lag spikes as long as an internet connection is required.

I'll wait for the LAN server to come out thank you :p

Like i did for Starcraft 2

^This.
Plus i am jamming now using an 8ta 3g card and i am getting 300ms. The game is perfect at those speeds.
