I have MTN 3G uncapped lite and 8ta's 10GB 3G and the latency is ruining the experience completely.
Esp having paid in excess of R400 for an unplayable game!

Does anyone know if
a) I can take the game back and get my money back from AWX
b) Where I can complain to blizzard about their broken game
c) What I can do to lessen the latency on MTN or 8ta (downloads are not a problem just the latency)
b) Where I can complain to MTN and 8ta about their latency

3 second latency on MTN;
7209627188

Just try the free trial before you buy the game by using your battlenet account details and by downloading the game from www.diablo3.com, since the trial is bugged you don't need a guest pass to play.

The limit is level 13 and the first boss.

I played the beta over free weekend on Vodacom and it worked well (I have good 3G signal though). It also only used about 10MB per hour, so can't see that it won't work. However I have no experience on 8ta and only bad
experience on MTN so your milage may vary...

Sigh ja, I pre-ordered and knew it was persistent on-line connection, but this is quite ridiculous, every click on every enemy/gold/item/door/character it seems is sent to the server or waiting from something from the server.
Just moving items in the inventory lags

They took a great game and crippled it completely.
I understand, they want to avoid piracy but this to much, I bloody hope they pirate this soon

Yep I wish it was offline like their other diablo versions for single player with a multiplayer function to use online

It lags sometimes on my telkom account also and I see my guy jump accross the screen or it disconnects me :D

Jis and it drives me ***** insane.
I walk over gold, and again, and again, and again, and again until suddenly ka-ching, I picked it up.
So I suspect either blizzard does not care or they're idiots who think every one is on ADSL with 100% uptime
And they forgot to take notice of the flak C&C Tiberuim Twilight drew from requiring a persistent connection

Check out the technical support forum on battlenet. Tons of people complaining about lag and errors. Safe to say this is a fail launch. After all these years Blizzard should have just made the single player offline, like Starcraft 2, and everyone would have been happy. The servers wouldn't be taking a knock because not everyone plays online Co-Op. Seems like lag will always be an issue at times even with single player.

Yeah this is ridiculous - my character keeps pausing all the time in some red circle which is probably from latency.

I play on 8ta 3G, and I don't have it as bad as OP. I have latency of around 500. I don't think the problem lies as much on our side as on blizz side, my mates from netherlands and england also complain of lag spikes and high latency (for them 200 is high)...

Hopefully during the next week blizz manages to sort all this kak out.

also on 8ta here, and I have no problems in co-op running 500ms. plus its one of the cheaper deals. 2+1gb for R149. (in bellville for those wondering about location)

They do not care for the SA few playing... you do realise this right?

Jip, and I dit not know the on-line dependency would be this bad.
Checking my account details or something every few minutes = fine.
Calculating my ***** monster hits and drops, per ***** mouse click = ludicrous

Can you imagine the load on those servers due to the click-fest that is Diablo?

sheesh dude, can you be more dramatic?

there is nothing wrong with this game, it is not broken. your internet connection is broken. you can go and cry to blizzard all you want, but you knew the game needed a decent internet connection

every game has its problems at launch. this is the biggest game lauch world-wide in a LONG time... so who cares if it lags a bit while things iron out?

You probably got like however million people playing at any given time, so just give it a rest

On the box it says "requires Broadband internet connection to play", so blizzard wont give you your money back.

As for the server issues... they probably allow for that as well. It should be sorted eventually, its not like the game will expire or anything.

I don't care that it is the biggest launch since whenever.
I don't care if 10 or a million is playing it at the same time.
I don't care if the box says "broadband internet connection required", or is 3G not considered broadband?
I do care if it takes time to sort their issues out, I paid my R495, and expecting a working single player game is not to much to ask.
