Did Cell C deactivate Vodacom roaming on my sim?

Test roaming, all seems fine.
I am not aware you any changes to Cell C and Vodacom roaming.
Will try find out and send some one out to test.

thank u...but it seems i am the only one here affected by it. other peeps in this thread seems to have no problems. this is happening at home in bruma and at work in midrand. when i manage to get vodacom on my network list and select it iy says "ure sim does not allow connection to this nrtwork" ... that is why i am wondering if roaming was taken off ny actual sim profile?
 
I think I have just had a brain wave....or maybe a brain fart...sometimes I cant tell which it is....but I will put my 2Gig Cell C sim i my phone when I get home and see if that one can roam...if it can...then that would tell me that something is not right on my voice sim provisioning I guess?

OK....so did some test last night and it is rather strange. When I put my voice sim (the one I can not roam with) into my backup Vodacom Blackberry 9300 it picks up Vodacom with a network search and when I select Vodacom it roams fine. When I put my 2Gig cell c sim into my motorola .... same problem occurs. If I do manage to pick up Vodacom on network search and select it....then it says your sim does not allow connection to this network.

Seems to be a issue on my phone? I dont understand how though. I have looked for roaming settings but cant find any. Only thing that I did find what the data roaming one and swtiching it off or on does not make a difference.

Oh well. I guess I will just have to leave it at that then.

Just to verify, oc, you did select Vodacom(2G) and not Vodacom(3G) network?
 
When roaming on vodacom 2G. I cannot access the internet. CellC? Assistance?
 
Hi daiyaan

One reason could be that the edge signal that you get when roaming on VC is very weak.
Other if you go in to your setting, have you got Data roaming activated ?

Roaming on Vodacom

Hi guys, need some help here :) For Christmas i'm going on holiday first to Mpumalanga then to Limpopo. Both places are holiday game resorts deep in the bush. Being little bit worry about the quality of CellC network in that area i thought would be a good idea to roam on VC network. I did try now, while still in Joburg and i don't have problems with calls, but when i try to access I-net i'm not getting any data. I'm using mobile.redbullmobile APN. And my roaming data is enabled on my phone. RBM200 contract and Huawei cell. Any one else with the same problem or suggestions how can i get roaming to work. Thanks.
 
Opened a new thread and just after that i saw this one. I'm having the same problem as well. Look here: http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/384771-Roaming-on-Vodacom. I did tell Cell_C about it, quite time ago, which means definitely something is not right, but like usual no one is really interested of fixing it before hits the fan. If any ones comes with a solution please post it here. I did try the call center, what a useless morons and i just gave up.
 
Perhaps Redbull Mobile apn is billed to the different account and it is up to the account holders to review their roaming policy. Similar to the Virgin users not able to roam to Vodacom.

This seems to just be happening with RBM customers.
I am going to take this up tomorrow morning.
RBM is on a different Billing system.

Its the same with me.

When I start up my phone it would show Cell C with full signal with 3.5G available. Then shortly it would drop to 2 then 1 bar then no Service. They still have Vodacom roaming on, but it barely works these days.

Cell C reception is still "limited" even after their Network upgrade. Vodacom and MTN have perfect 3G and 3.5G signal at my house.

data roaming on vodacom

Hi

Has CellC disabled data roaming on vodacom? I cannot access the internet whilist im out of cell c coverage. Cellc?

It works for me....I just have to make sure that I have my modem set to "3G/WCDMA prefered" or "GSM/EDGE Only"....you can only roam on Vodacom in 2G and is pretty slow.:cry:

I think you are right i have had the same experience
It makes sense because roaming costs CellC extra money
