It takes me hours to do anything......

Called support this moprning and am still waiting for a call back......

Yes, mine is also like this now. Used to be able to download almost 3gigs per day, which I were more than happy with. Now I get 1.6 gigs which makes me very very sad.
 
Yep, me too, Astraweb used to be great and now I'm getting 10-20 kB/s which is pretty awful on a 4mb line. I downloaded 150MB's the entire night(10 hours) . Why did they eliminate bursting? Everything has become awful, Youtube is a terrible, it took me 50 minutes to buffer a 2 minute video . , torrents are going at less than 8 kB/s .This virtual pipe has been a disaster on my side, everything has gone down the drains. It used be very good with bursting but now I am having second thoughts about paying for the month of February ...

Morning all. My speeds have dropped and I noticed it's mainly HTTP that's suffering on my side, I'd like to think DC is working on these problems. On a positive note single threaded downloads are running at 18kB/s which waaaay better than 5kB/s :)
 
hi there last week i was getting up to 40k on downloads on torrets now for the last 3 days average is 3-4kbs whats happerned

On the spicy package 384k line

Okay seems my speeds are doing better hmm DC is tweaking stuff alright

EDIT: Speeds back down ~sigh~

My astra has now picked up to 38-39kb/s from 30kb/s on spicy 384line. Good i'm a happy camper, i used to get crap speeds when u lot were bragging about your downloads now it's my turn hehe!

In good faith, I dealt with Andre last week about my SMTP problem and once he realised that it was in fact DC and not me, my telkom line nor a router fault and even not my domain host's fault - he managed to sort it out. 5 days with no SMTP service - tough one but it's done, over and forgotten about. Since yesterday there has been a cable stolen in my area so I'm back on 3G at present so cannot comment on the general speeds but main thing - they did finally come to the party and fix the problem. Am in negotiation with Screamer however, thinking about giving them a try.
 
Things seem to slowly be coming right my side after 2 days of not being able to do anything......

http download speeds have picked up.....browsing is still a huge pain......just trying to post this here has taken me 2 hours.....:cry:

I feel your pain :( But I have got good news! It seems Dc are doing something :D My HTTP downloads though mediafire/dap have downloaded above 32kB/s... but not for long :p It still nice to see it's improving so hold in there :)

Browsing while not downloading is ok but not exactly smooth, torrents are slightly faster maxing out at 28/29kB/s. One step at a time right :)
 
DC is definitely doing something there....the speeds are going up and down .....may be they trying to SWITCH ON the bursting again...which is good news
 
Hi.

all seems good here, just some international pages takes a wile to open, like gmail and so .. i presume it is telkom .. because DC are not shaping any more.
 
Well I'm certainly more happy seeing as my speeds just peeked at 41kB/s :D But then down to 32kB/s then 33 then 35 then a stable 38kB/s til it drops back down again :) While that is awesome something is troubling me, why am I getting disconnected from host server every odd few minutes :confused: DC is doing something or prehaps it's Telkom who might actually be fixing the problems on their end. It's looking better for the most part :p

Wait it has to be Telkom because when the cable broke didn't every major isp have slow (beside downloads) international browsing? :confused:
 
OMG!!! I JUST GOT MAILED BACK. DIGICHILLI EMAILED ME!!! I FEEL SO HONERED!!! Sorry for the CAPS i just feel like the king ATM.
