DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I'm pretty sure no ISP guarantees any speed.

Really, then why in their FAQ's does it say?

How DigiChilli’s burst speed work?

We're guaranteeing a minimum service but you'll probably get full speed out

What is classified as a minimum service? a connection, and maybe faster than dialup?

Oh and what is "Burst speed"? why would you need a burst speed, if:

1. You are able to get up to 256kbs on a 384kbps line. (128kbs extra is bursting?)

...Up to speed of 256 kbps...

2. Why would you need to even have bursting if you didn't expect people with higher line capacity, ie. 4Mb Lines, to use this service. They would be happy with it not being 256kbps or slower ALL the time!

Sorry, thats my last rant, for the day i think.

great, now my international browsing is so slow its pointless, anybody else having the same issue?

Delayed messages? Same here

Yes! It's driving me crazy!!! Send a message and wait 10+ min for a reply... AI

Same in Secondlife. The IMs are often "lost in the void of cyberspace" or are up to a few minutes late, which creates weird and irritating conversation interruptions or misunderstandings, when the text suddenly finally appears and is completely out of context, with the present group conversation.

I'm pretty sure no ISP guarantees any speed.

They don't. The words "best effort service" is standard. DC merely made a mistake to mention "guaranteed". I'm sure they will proof read their site and fix the last wording now.

Keep at it guys. If you keep supporting them, they won't die an instant death that their network deserves. Later on the rest of us sane people can enjoy the fruits of your suffering...if they ever sort out their network ;)

Nope they don't..... no ISPs in SA do that I know of... it would be too much of a ballache.
BUT Windows updates to some degree are distributed via Akamai, which is hosted locally by Telscum.

So what is the story with bursting? Is it still being implemented? Could Andre please comment on this, as I have not seen bursting for the past 1 and a half weeks.

My connection just died, Anybody else?

Edit: finally connected again. What's with these interruptions, my connection just dies and then 4-5minutes later it's working again. This about the 5th time in 2 days it's happened.
