DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I am getting 300- 370 kb/s with Astraweb 20 connections... loving it

You might have your account banned/suspended soon.

My friend did something similar in December, He used 10 connections in IDM downloading from Rapidshare, this allowed him to get close to his full line speed(4mbps), he managed to get 25gigs in 1day. Digichilli promptly banned/suspended his account because he was circumventing Digichilli's rules and regulations.

Just letting you know.

thanks for the info but what I am doing is not in anyway something special or illegal or devious or whatever you wanna call it. The only way NZB's are downloaded it via multiple threads (20-50).

Well if you are on spicy/mild you can bet that they do not intend for you to get those speeds, they will fix that sooner or later rest assured you won't be getting 300KBps for ever. Abuse it while you can. ;)

Okay, maybe they are different.

When I download with alt.binz, I usually use 2 connections to get get my line speed(40KB/s), so I thought what you are doing was similar to what my friend had done.

Anyways, I was just giving you a heads up, just in case.

kl... When you use 2 connections what server you connecting to? different servers require more/less connections to reach same speeds!

I don't know how the international news servers work, I only use the Saix server with my local Telkom cap.

When my friend did it DigiChilli had just setup the shaper so it was limiting his 2 connections to around 10-20KB/s, so he tried adding more connections and he kept getting 10-20KB/s per connection till he got his line speed.
In the end Dave told him to keep his connections down to 2 during the day and 3 or 4 at the maximum in the evening.

Again IDM and which ever News Server program you are using may work differently.

Okay, this is ridiculous.

Three nights in a row, so far, without fail DC dies at midnight.

This is unacceptable. We don't get any warning, not do we even get redirected to a webpage saying 'Oops! We broke something!'

I was on the virge of not asking for a refund. Now I want every single cent back.

Local is back up. International still dead.

EDIT: MyBB works, but DC website does not. So some local works only.

Edit 5 minutes later. Local dead also.

Edit 2 minutes layer, local working again for both DC site and MyBB. 5fm does not load, so some local still dead. International still dead.

Seems like a lot of fixing going on.

if someone can explain this.

Quoted from Digichilli's FAQ:
How DigiChilli’s burst speed work?

We're guaranteeing a minimum service but you'll probably get full speed out

Then Quoted from DigiChilli's Home page:
Up to speed of 256 kbps.

Ok, so what is the guaranteed minimum? 1kB? 5kB? and is the burst speed 256kbps? I cannot seem to find any reference to a minimum. Hmm thinking a refund is in order, but will let it slide for a bit.

Hmmm.

at the moment i am only getting about 7KB/s far far away from even min, not even thinking about full line speed. I think the advert "..probably full line speed.." is refering to 384 users

Welcome to Digichilli, my first day so far:

All good last night, Astra going at 30k/s, torrents seeding, all IM connected.

Died around midnight, and has been decomposing ever since.

Maybe I wasted my money?

EDIT Browsing seems ok, ati cat driver download died during the night, astra dead, torrents chugging at 6-10k/s

Well browsing is fine, cat 10.1 going at 30k/s, so http seems fine. Gmail works, IM's work, astra dead, torrent at 6k/s.

Hi Everyone

Hows your connections this morning? Mail us some feedback on support@digichilli with details if you are having issues.
