DigiChilli January Status and feedback

something weird is happening right now.......:erm:

browsing has gone real k@k and http downloading is all over the place....goes from 40 to 0 and then back up again then stops.....
 
I can hardly browse......:wtf:

its driving me nutz so off to have breakfast maybe when I come back it will be ok......:whistle::p:)
 
Chilly was off this morning when I left. Got to work and the status was flying??? Will check again when I get home.

Anybody tried port forwarding for torrents? does it work?:erm:
 
Torrents themselves are still very slow.......

And everything else is having a few issues atm...
 
HTTP is slow for me. It never goes above 15kBps. Though I'm not going to get sad cos Dave said that Hilly's working on it. I take my hat off to that guy - 1 guy fixing a network all by himself. Wow. I feel sad for him:D...
 
Browsing is fine on my side, streaming audio working well.

My VPN is connected as well and I can access my company's intranet systems.I still have to test Xbox Live.

EDIT: OK, its gone k@k now as well.

iv noticed when it comes to torrents that DC -> DC Downloads are great! But DC -> Any other ISP and Visa Versa speeds are K@K like 6kbps.

I wonder what could cause that?

No XBOX live availible on my side I'm afraid .... Passes all the tests but cannot authenticate ... still missing a port ... or a protocol ..... hint hint hint ... :whistle:

What does yours say when you select more info? Mine complained about not receiving ICMP responses correctly. I must admit, I haven't tested it in about two days so I'm not sure if the symptom has changed.:)
 
Just really hoping one day I can come here and find just positive remarks. Dave, I am not an ISP worker so I really have no idea what it entails to run one, but in this case, could you explain why these issues with ports and certain services not working are taking so long? I really would have thought it was a matter of just opening certain ports and giving them higher priority than others? Obviously not, as it would be fixed by now.

What I always fear with the cheap ISP's is due the high cost of bw in SA, their contention ratio's are so shot. So they end up juggling with really complicated filter rules to try and get the most out of their total pool of bandwidth, when really they don't actually have enough to cope with a proper uncapped/unlimited service :-(
 
Can't connect to digichilli at all at the moment...

EDIT: Rooter reboot sorted it out, back on again and torrents look better...
