Speeds are slowly improving. Getting max 24.4kB/s on single threaded downloads. Multi threaded downloads burst up 29kB/s but are more realistically around 27kB/s. Torrents are still dead though I wonder what they're doing with the virtual pipe system now, probably playing around like naughty school kids till they get it right :p

I never really saw why Facebook is so popular (mybb is better :p) and adding an addictive game to it is like selling crack to kids - they just won't have enough money left to buy lunch afterwards ;) But seeing as I'm in a good mood I'll ask the noobiest question of them all, Is there not a stand alone Farmville application that you can download and play through instead of having to connect via facebook through FF? (I'm thinking like second life here with their desktop application)

Any way try google chrome it seems to be awesome with DC for some reason.... *coughDC&googlepartnershipcough* :D

As for speeds they're so-so still but more stable so 1 whole gold star for you DC :)

Can anyone post a speedtest from a 4 meg account on a SPICY account or refference to kbps would be much appreciated.

How is DC lately? Stability wise?

I don't play online games yet lol busted graphics card :( Lol I never said you were addicted but from what I hear farmville is addictive like cyber crack :wtf:

FF 3.0 seems a little buggy to me so I use IE8, chrome is fast but less useful right now. The 1 thing that is awesome about FF is the the massive add-ons available for it :D

Now speeds are stable a bit on the slow side though. Here's a couple of speed tests:

JHB to CT

JHB to Washington DC

JHB to Manchester

Very odd results if you ask me - How The Flying Duck In A Cup can local be SLOWER than international?! LoL something makes me think telkom is behind all this some how :p

My DC connection has been quite usable this week, peaking at 100KBs and averaging at 30KBS on a spicy package with 4meg line.

I'm having some really weird things happening. 1stly on Firefox I've had a transefer rate of 1.2Mb/s it only lasted for +-2 seconds though it then went steadily down (over about 20seconds) to about 25kb/s and then on Chrome i just now had a transfer rate of just under 200kb/s. I don't know if it's just the speeds being misreported somehow but the data that was transfered was not corrupt in any way and the data downloaded didnt suddenly jump back to being less than what was reported to be downloaded after that initial spike so the 5mb of the full 12mb file still stayed at 5mb. The weirdest of it all I'm on a 384 line on the spicy deal

Check your router and see what speed your line is syncing at - I think you're possibly on telkom's 8mb trial ;)
