So they say at least.

After being a smidgen fed up I emailed general support yesterday and 30 minutes later received a call apologising for the way things are but telling me that around 20kBs is "expected" at the moment. I was also told they have some Quality of Service issues to sort out and once those are done (apparently in "a week or two") we should reach our aimed 32kBs. (The guy also made a point of the site saying UP TO but was at least nice enough to say he knew I should be hitting 32kBs)

Having worked in an isp myself I really can't understand what sort of issue would take 1-2 weeks to resolve (I mean I've moved whole companies to new network infrastructure in less than half that time).....and so I worry that they don't actually know "what" exactly is wrong.

I'm still hopeful they'll turn around though....perhaps foolishly so.

I'll admit I have no experience working for an ISP but here's why I think it'll take 1-2 weeks: DC News Server :D it might explain why we'd see a boost in speeds. It may take a week or two just to tweak everything and make sure it's working with their shaper prehaps ;) Now why can't they allow a few beta testers :whistling:

And today mine is doing good again.

THIEF! Gimme it back :crying: lol enjoy it while it lasts

It's definately about time they did, hell even a small update would do. I'd settle for "yes there are problems and we'll have them fixed by xx/xx/xx"

Speeds have dropped to beyond bad right now :(

I think it has been like that since last December.
I signed up for them last December and it was slow, but they were new, so benefit of the doubt.
Then, after a couple of days it got irritating as there were no answers, just other forum users says "They're new, give them time".
Thankfully Dave came along and posted some updates that placated the masses and gave us all hope. Unfortunately speeds remained the same, very slow, 10kb/s if I recall correctly. Also no connection to Steam, no Skype, no 'anything much'.

The problem was always '2 days' from being solved and would be fixed with 'the next piece of hardware to be installed'.
Again, unfortunately that was not the case.

At the end of jan I applied to SAOL and haven't looked back since.

I have kept popping into this thread to see how DigiChilli are doing and it appears to be the same thing every time.
Everyone experiencing slow speeds, digichilli giving no feedback (but stuff trickling through that they are 'x days/weeks from solving the problem') and 1/8 of the people repeating the "give them a chance - they're new" mantra.

Again, I hope that tomorrow they flip a switch and all you subscribers get your full speeds.

Or maybe the cheaper deal isn't the best and it would be better to 'invest' your money elsewhere...

they might have some issues, but where else can i get 100gb per month for R240

That is just it! You get 100 GB where others struggle to get 10!! Some people have exceptional speeds where others have zero! That is the problem. If everybody was getting 100+GB then no problem.

Stable speeds so far today. Max speed is 24kB/s on everything. Also I noticed that at alosmt exactly 8am this morning my torrents dropped down to less than 1kB/s (sometimes bursted up to 5kB/s), so this has lead me to believe, I do hope I'm wrong though, that DC are shaping torrents during the day. I can't say that it's definately the case seeing as torrents seem to have a mind of their own.

I take it you have a 4mb line and are getting more than 20kB/s? To be honest no one can blame you if you are, it's DC responsibility to limit you to package speed.

2 concurrent connections on a spicy account? (As you said R240 a month)

I ummm....I wouldn't expect that to stay up if I was you as only mild was supposed to have 2 connections............and even that is apparently at risk.

Guys & Girls I just checked out the screamer thread and made a starttling discovery. It seems utorrent was affecting their connection (yes I know what you're thinking "they're Screamer we're DC"), so out of interest I downloaded bitcomet and tried a well seeded torrent.... and holy k#k did the speeds look decent. The only problem is that the speeds weren't stable. Speeds bounced around between 20kB/s to 33kB/s :wtf:

I unfortunately have stuff in uTorrent I'm downloading at the moment so Can someone please who uses bitcomet/wants to try bitcomet just see if there is any speed difference? I doubt it'll be that much better than utorrent speeds but with DC you have to try everything :)

You can open your current torrents in Bitcomet and do a manual hash check just make sure your default save folder is the same as utorrent's. I also have experienced better speeds in bitcomet ave 25 - 30 bursts to 33 max 35 kB/s
