DigiChilli January Status and feedback

rapidshare this morning?

Free user: 480 bytes/Sec :erm:

HTTP speeds are good this morning with an average of 25kB/s. Torrents are so-so and everthing else seems to be working fine. I wonder if this is DC working on the speed issues finally or just another lucky burst day ;)

DC is very unstable and is going deadly slow to average to good speeds, bad yoyo trick bad :(

EDIT: Torrents are now awesome :wtf:

anyone else noticee downloading the actual torrent file takes forever !

like if i download an exe it goes at 30kb/s, but if i download the little 30Kb torrent file of somewhere, it takes like 5 minutes and is prone to failure :/

Yip also getting this problem most of the time,

Yeah. I eventually used to download the torrent files via another account then switch back to DC to let it trickle-download.

To be honest, I haven't used them all that much this month. Got a little tired of all the issues so I think I'm going to cool down for a while until I hear some decent positive feedback. That R300 a month would see better usage as a Afrihost top-up (hopefully one of their Buy 1GB get 2GB special).

I'll keep an eye on this thread and others like it though...

I have used just over 93Gig on my spicy account with DigiChilli this month. Thats less than R3.50/gig. I think that is pretty decent.

Speeds:

HTTP Single: 18.2kB/s max
HTTP Multi Threaded: 20kB/s max no bursting either
Torrents: 18.7kB/s max
Browsing: Sluggish even when not downloading
IM: Dead
Audio Streaming: Fine
Video Streaming: Slow but working

Today is just not DC's day. :erm:

I'm getting an authentication error anybody else having same problem ?

Nope not here but it explains why I'm getting awesome speeds of 28kB/s-32kB/s with bursts up to 36kB/s

What the hell is going on today :wtf:

Not quite as good, not quite as stabeishly (new word yays!) high....but speeds definitely better tonight than the last 2 weeks for me. First time I've hit 30kBs in a MONTH.

I.....I.......think I cried a little.

Well, I signed up for another month. I mean for R240, with a 384 line and Spicy, I am on 62 gigs for the month, and for that kind of money, its perfect.

I had total downtime of about 4 hours, speeds have been averaging around 26k/s, and torrents have been seeding fine. IM works, I can Skype family in Europe, my e-mails work, and if I pause alt.binz, browsing is fine, so I'm hanging in there.

Keep it up DC!!!

this is BS

save a .torrent file...

then save the same file, but change the extension to like .txt or .rar or whatever you want. Torrent always fails and hardly makes it, full speed if its a txt !

Something is odd... I've been getting great speeds for nearly 18 hours and doesn't seem to be slowing down. Can this be DC fixing things Finally? I hope so :)

203 kbps down (~0.2 Mbps, 25 KB/s) ↓

4 times faster than 56k dialup

Up 9 gigs from last month. Mostly Secondlife.

DC has been ok, even with the usual bandwidth speed yo-yo effects and completely dying every now and then.

Still worth R300 per month with no contracts and no signing over of my line.
