DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Todays speeds have been wild and unstable. One moment I had near full line speed and the next I was cringing at the slow speeds.

Right now I'm getting speeds in the mid to lower thirties so I can't complain (it has been stable somewhat). Honestly I don't really think it matters what package your on at time, you will still get slow speeds on a 384k line :(

I do miss the days when I speeds were between 35kB/s and 44kB/s and nothing less :o

EDIT: Speeds just dropped to low twenties (21kB/s) bursting for about a second or two to about 29kB/s. Happy days :o

If what you said about the the package is true, maybe it helped mailing and phoning them every 5minutes, until they got tired of me and just decided they will give me full line speed. Cause honestly think in the last 2 months there was 3 days that I didn't get the max line speed.

59 minutes to download exactly 100mb at an average of 28.9kB/s isn't so bad for me I guess. I have seen multi threaded downloads go full line speed so I'm happy. Might not be perfect but still faster than a few other uncapped products that are heavily shaped (seeing as torrents go almost at the exact speed as http and other protocols :) ). DC is getting better but not for everyone :o

Yip I'm sure that will help ;) Since DC started I've had 3 great months 1 bad month and now a good'ish month so I'm fine with it. DC is still growing so I will cut them a little more slack, but obviously if they don't improve everyonr will look at better deals. Any ways enjoy your speeds :p

My connection just died.

Edit: Okay, just found out it's for non payment, wish Digichilli would send a notification email to let you know your month is nearly up.
Apparently there is also a problem with the Credit Card payment option which they are busy trying to fix.

Edit: Finally paid via EFT.
Speeds are pretty crap, I'm getting 6-20KB/s. :(
This morning before they cut me off I was getting 30-45KB/s.
The guy I spoke to said that speeds were slow and that they should pick up later.

Is anybody else getting crappy speeds atm?

Edit: speeds have improved, I'm getting 20-35KB/s. :D

Really guys. Why would you still use Digichilli? You have had problems from the very start. Why not just give it up? Isn't that the whole idea of a month-to-month?

Speeds on my side have been great doing 100mb per hour is pretty good considering. My average speed is 29kB/s but still bursts up to full line speed often meaning it's still a bit unstable but I can handle it. :p

Give up and go where? MWEB? Afrihost? MyIsp? Imaginet? Axxess? Sure if they aren't badly shaped and could offer me speeds of 30kB/s during the day and full speed during the night then I'd be there in a heart beat! DC has it's advantages some of which people won't tell you in public

Even though DC is now expensive compared to other packages (well not if you add the 20% discount that is pretty much there the whole time) and is unstable from time to time, I still think DC is the best around for now. I think people who are pissed off at DC have the right to be but for us that are using them and still prefer them let us be. :)

Just for the record. I have never used DC, so I am not pissed off at them. Just strange how seemingly intelligent people cling on for no good reason. I did learn something though. I was under the impression that DC was also shaped. That was the whole point that pushed me to SAOL a few months ago. Can you please clarify?

Sorry I meant people in general who pissed of at DC :p As for their shapping I'd say there really isn't any. Rapidshare used to be dog slow for me but now when i download as a free user I get near the same speed as when I use multi threaded http downloads. Torrents seem to run as fast as http as well and this all happens 24/7 ;)

I can even play BFC2 without any lag and that if I'm mistaken it falls under a p2p connection protocol. All seems getting better my side :D

From my experience the account is not shaped, or not anymore at least. Speeds and latency for the account looks reasonable to me

I signed up again because for the past 2 months I had an average download speed of 35KB/s.
This morning I was getting 30-50KB/s then they cut me off for non payment. So I pay for another month and now I'm averaging 10-18KB/s, which sucks, I did have two one hour periods when I got full line speed.
I really hope my speeds go back to the way they were because that was the only reason I didn't decide to try MWEB's uncapped package.

Prophet112, all I can suggest is stalk them, phone, email and skype until your speed is back to normal.

I have been, After they reactivated my account the guy said the speeds would get better but they didn't last long. Going to send another email.

I wasn't expecting my speeds to be this slow when I payed for another month today especially since just before they cut me off this morning I was getting 30-40KB/s and out of the 2 months of amazing speeds(averaging 30-35KB/s), I have only had 2-4 days where the speeds were really slow for an extended period of time.

they will most likely 1st tell you there is a problem with the network or that they will run 1 of the scripts they have for each problem. Normally when I Phone and stay on the line with them till the speed is back to normal

Will give it a try, Thanks.

Everything is back to normal on my side it seems :D Now it just better last :p
