DigiChilli January Status and feedback

And here we go International just died on me *holds fingers crossed* maybe they're going back to Seacom :D

EDIT: After rigorous testing I am glad to say DC has passed with flying speeds and quick browsing :D

I'm pretty sure DC is back on Seacom, how is everyone else's speeds/browsing like? :)

I can't believe that you guys are still using them. They're crap. Your own posts in this thread will tell you that.

Dude, no offence but you have no idea what you are talking about.
For the 384kbps users like myself, I would have to say this is the best uncapped solution.

He was a Digichilli subscriber during December. Actually Digichilli was pretty crap then, but that was to be expected, being a brand new ISP with bandwith starved people. But would still like to know to what he compares Digichilli that he say they're crap
 
Great speeds this morning even on p2p. I'm getting an average of 38kB/s on HTTP and about 30Kb/s on torrents. How's NNTP speeds?

Hope you guys are also getting awesome speeds :)

NNTP is Full steam. Line can't keep up with the account :D

XineoX, you want to try NNTP? Got an Astraweb Account with a Few GB's if you want to have a go at it?

I was with them from the start, my friend won a mild account which he shared with me, the beginning of December was great until they started implementing their shaper which caused a lot of problems/extremely slow speeds with people like myself using Rapidshare.
January had it's ups and downs but since Feb the service has been amazing so I don't understand when someone makes a comment based on his experience with the service 4 months ago.
I mean if you look at other company's uncapped threads atm, they have been having the same problems that Digichilli had when they started(Mweb to a lesser extent, but still shaped during the day) .

+1 Couldn't have said it better myself. Yes DigiChilli had a few (ok a lot) of problems but right now I don't have 1 bad thing to say about them. I've also been with DC from the begining and it's been bumpy along the way, but was well worth it.

I'm doing 50 gigs a month without much effort. If i was with any other ISP I'd be accused of "Abuse of Bandwidth". Mweb is doing great and good for them, but D still beats them! DC has little to NO shaping and so far is only R20 (constant discount FTW!) more then Mweb!

I'm happy with DigiChilli. Just because people have had a bad experience in the past does not mean they should bash DC for what they are now. If you try them now I'm sure you will be more than happy, if not just stalk them till they give you what we have :)

yes, but that is for 384 users, the 4meg offers from DC is still too high. i was also with them from the start, and yes they did improve ALOT, but they need to give a good 4meg offer

I agree 100% They're pricing should be something like:

384K - R149 MAX
512K - R250 MAX (seeing as it's only a small bump up from 384 I don't see why you should pay double)
4meg - R450 MAX <- This would piss a lot of ISP's off :D

I believe DC could do that or at least I hope so. Speed upgrades are coming soon and I should think DC would follow up with a better bang for our buck ;)

I actually think that they have prices with regards to the faster accounts spot on. For 10x the speed they pay 10x as much. Where with mweb 384 pay R219 and for 4096 they pay R539. 2.5 x times price but you get 10x the speed. Its great for the guys with fast lines. But is completely out of proportion. But that just my opinion. If I had a faster line I would also go with Mweb for that price

I will say NNTP is impressive, but I still like my mediafire and rapidleech.co.za :love: I've got a pretty good site for ahem movies if you would like check it out? Also have plenty of anime sites hehe :p

BTW I do have one complaint with DC. I still have the auto disconnect every 6 hours through PPPOE connection. What connection are you guys using? Also getting the auto disconnect?

Theres only so many games to download.. lol I am actually downloading via torrent now all the quest games from sierra. Couldn't find it anywhere else.

This side get the odd connection drop and 5min of death.

60?! Seriously?! I was expecting max 50! :wtf: 60 gigs later and I'm very happy. I got 60 gigs by not even downloading 24/7, watching youtube, playing online and browsing. Thank you DC :D

@Clickme thanks again I'm really enjoying NNTP now. One new game just came out and I must say thanks to you I don't have to wait a week to get it! You are the man :D lol and congrats to SKIDROW for their new release and funny NFO ;)

Now that you use NNTP that 60 will become 80 ... LOL.. That game is also in my Que now, Just 150 MB before it starts.
