DigiChilli January Status and feedback

I'm getting OK speeds across the boards. Seems I'm averaging 25kB/s on everything (except nntp which I don't have access to). I think DC messed up there speed limiting times because during the day I get awesome speeds and at night speeds are decent weird :p

Interesting, downloading Via news server, and receiving of email works fine , but browsing is a disaster today. How's everybody's connection? Still effect of the Seacom maintenance?
 
Browsing international is dead. HTTP downloads are kinda okay but sloooow. Torrents are best on my side going between 20kB/s - 28kB/s.

Can't even get into BFBC2 :( I hope they get seacom back up ASAP :o
 
Browsing is still crap for me, downloading is okay though, anybody know the Seacom maintenance progress?

Edit: as I posted this my downloads died.

Yip and I must say I'm loving it ;) No AUP, Barely any shaping, Slowest speeds are in the mid 20's and even then it is usaully in the low 30's of late if it's slow. DC might not be MWEB yet but it's still damn good :D

Browsing is painful (but seems it's the same for many ISP's). Downloading is oddly OK when using DAP for me, torrents are even going at around 25kB/s solidly. I don't know how far they are done with fixing Seacom, but SAT3 should be fixed later today so we should see some improvents I hope :)

maybe my account with digichilli is just special, but there is no other uncapped offering on the market for R200 (mild account shared with friend) with no shaping and no AUP. So imho digichilli is better value for money for me than mweb or all the other.
 
SO DC is still going strong then? Or has everyone jumped ship to the other providers?
 
Luckily we aren't the only ones suffering. It seems that it's either the Neotel backbone having problems or Seacom hasn't completed it's fixing and tweaking.

Saw in another thread that someone phoned their ISP and were told that between 2pm and 10pm their international bandwidth would up and down. Let's hope that either way DC comes back up asap :)

I think earliest will be tomorrow. One thing that this maintenance did manage to do is, is show me what there is to do around the house without internet :D
