DigiChilli January Status and feedback

9 Hours with no connection is pretty much a DC fail record.

Blame probably rests with seacom but I wonder, why isn't even local working then?

Strange, local is working for me with dc, has been moments it haven't worked during the day, but for the largest part I could access this site and other local sites using dc

Nahhh not that strange. (RE)Noticed DC use google as their DNS servers so with international being down and me using their default dns, it was only logical I couldn't access bugger all.

Long story short I used my phone to google search the local verizon dns addresses and after inputing those I am now sitting with at least slightly more internet.

So err.....I guess that's a positive.

Speeds really went to hell. I was getting 30kB/s + on HTTP downloads and around 25kB/s on P2P, but now I can barely get 10kB/s. So sad we have to endure this until Friday it seems :(

I'd gladly "endure" 10kBs until Friday as opposed to me still having NO international AT ALL. (Which is still the case in my scenario)

[Edit] Have something now but is very erraticly on and off [/Edit]

I actually have been getting pretty good speeds with all things considered.

HTTP Single: 25kB/s
HTTP Multi: 35kB/s average but still goes over 40 very often :D
IM: Works on and off
Audio Streaming: Local seems fine haven't tried international.
Video Streaming: Not working at all.
Browsing: Terrible and not so terrible. Most sites load up but some sites like youtube and mediafire won't open or only open partially
Torrents: 20-30kB/s kinda unbelievable speeds but hey thats what I'm getting :p

Seacom should be fixed tonight! Tomorrow should be hopefully be better :)

Which torrent client you using?

I'm using uTorrent lastest build with everything basically on deafult.

Torrents never been good this side- Utorrent will sometime(very rarely) download at between 15 and 6 but never upload more than 0.1. Bitcomet refuse to download but upload at full speed. And Vuze Upload and download at 12. But test with one of my other accounts (telkom or g-connect) all 3 of them work fine.

Not really, this kinda is making up for the near 3 days I was down completely. I am getting good speeds for now but what happens when DC decide to switch over to Seacom again :o

I just wish everything could go back to normal again. I have things I actually need to download. :)

Okay I'm really getting lucky here. Downloaded a 100mb file in 43 minutes and 22 seconds at an average rate of 39.4kB/s through DAP. I'm just happy I got a good day of downloading :)

But do not fret! Seacom should be fixed in a few more minutes!!! :D I doubt DC will change over staight away (If seacom actually gets fixed on time :p) so if your account goes dead I think it might mean they're switching back. I hope it's soon I miss my favourite international sites :o
