DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Don't know what they are doing but its not working

Edit : Anybody able to connect to any torrent or news server? Hotfile getting full speed. Rapidshare not even able to open site

It switches all the time. One day one protocol will work 100% speed, the next day that same protocol won't even connect but another will hit 100% speed.
(I use a private server so I'm able to switch between 3 protocols and several ports and have seen this happen for the last week - shocking thing is they are HEAVILY monitoring our traffic as even this server - which NO ONE else on digichilli uses - is being selectively shaped)

One way or another, the new owners have no idea what they're doing. We're getting R30 service at a R300+ price.

At least the old DC didn't INTENTIONALLY screw up your connection all the time..........

Im not even able to open any rapidshare link :wtf: And its not like I actually use rapidshare, just start downloading file to give feedback here then disconnect again. At the moment this accounts is nothing more than surf only accounts.:sick: like I said previously torrents and news servers is not shaped here, it is completely blocked:mad::cry:

Also still unable to access any secure site (HTTPS)

The 0-9KB/s Rapidshare speeds is only when it connects which has been rare today. Most of the time I can't even get a connection.
I knew yesterday was to good to be true From 10am-10pm I was pretty much getting full speed and now nothing for the whole day.
 
Im not even using my DC account. Downloading with telkom account (local) and browsing with Gconnect, at least every webpage opens now
 
I'm using my Telkom account to download all the new TV Series, there's like 7 shows whose new seasons have started this month. I was lucky to get 2 episodes yesterday with digichilli allowing me to save some of my Telkom cap.
 
WTF, I'm able to get 3KB/s with Rapidshare on Digichilli but my Telkom account Rapidshare is dead, can't even load the RS site.

Edit: Telkom account working again, unlike my Digichilli account.

Okay I couldn't wait any longer. Ordered Openweb Uncapped Gold just waiting for my details.

Today started off really great torrents downloaded at around 28KB/s last night until this morning around 9am then went dead, I thought "ok guess they are shaping torrents now let's try something else". I tried to download a hotfile file and got an amazing 33.1KB/s! Was happy until after it had downloaded and started another download from medifire - cut me off at 18mb tried again got cut off at 87mb.

Kept trying other downloads from HTTP and they kept freezing, youtube wasn't working and then browsing went. About 30 minutes later browsing and youtube were back but still no downloads. So it's official the spicy package is definately being made into a Just Surf package and everyone on the mild package is even suffering from DC's retarded shaper.

I love DC and I hope they get everything sorted. After 3 weeks of a lot of downs a few ups and borderline crazy moments I have finally given up what little hope I had for DC. I'm going to try Openweb for a month and see how it goes. I'll post some speed tests of DC vs Openweb to see which is better (but we already know who will win ;))

Good Luck DC and hope you come right - maybe I'll see you again if you're still around :)

P.S I can see this thread becoming "The Victims of the DC Shaper Thread" :p
 
Also placed my order (with Mweb Unshaped in my case however).

I loved DC while it lasted, but this new management's policy of screwing over users is just too hard to swallow.

OMG I managed to connect to a torrent tracker and managed a earth shattering 5kB/s for a minute or so before it dropped to 0.3kB/s At least my download moved up to 0.1% complete. Unlike the other DC user trying to download the same torrent that still stuck on 0%

I'm getting 1.97KB/s from rapidshare and about 3-5KB/s on torrents. HTTP is going just over 20KB/s. Just proves once again DC is playing Russian roulette with the accounts and is constantly shooting themselves in the foot :whistle:
 
torrents just jumped to 30. They seem to like someone from Greece, unable to download anything from the other, but getting the full 30 from that peer.

Wish I could move now, but will have to suffer for another week like this

DC is seems more stable this morning but I wonder how long it will last. :o
