DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Hmm whats your definition of stable?

Two single threaded downloads running at a combined rate of 38KB/s :D but seems to me it's starting to slow down again, pretty much sums up DC for the month od September :p

Was good for me last night and terrible when I woke up, luckily my mweb details arrived just as it went to hell.

Nice to have functioning internet again.

Mind posting some speedtests of international and local on your new shiny MWEB account?

Speedtest just doesnt tell the full story.

Paris

Local

According to that, I should have an almost wonderful experience on 384.

Aye, most ISPs tend to prioritise speedtest traffic nowadays. Makes it easier to blame the user or the website/server instead of themselves.

Yip, that's what i'm saying. Best is to take the exact same file / torrent / NZB(and server) and compare results

Hi Basjohn, how much did you pay Mweb for the remainder of the month?
I'm contemplating on whether I should sign up with Mweb on Monday or wait till Friday.

Pro-rata and is about R16.63 per day for my package (obviously much cheaper for the normal 384 uncapped) so it was only R100.

More than I'd like to have spent at this point granted but better than having this hair-pulling experience of blocked/shaped to death ports for even a moment longer.

Thanks.

Weird day indeed. I'm getting ~35KB/s on files from hotfile & netload.in (both free user downloads) yet anything downloaded through dap seems to go slow around 10-15KB/s. Office 2010 can't seem to conncet to my Gmail account yet I can log in fine from my browser.

I have a feeling DC isn't controlling the Shaper but the Shaper is controlling them :wtf:

Indeed I noticed this too but it is rather extraordinary that they'd actually BLOCK https. All those EFT customers (who don't have it auto-set up) aren't going to be able to log into online banking to pay them....................even if they'd actually still want to.

Also it seemed FTPS is blocked too but I don't think many people here use that.
