DigiChilli January Status and feedback

Aye but this "17%" overhead thing I've seen going around is pretty ridiculous as well. Every source I find places TCP (and UDP) overhead at a MUCH lower margin. The largest margin I've found on any source so far is 7.4%.

maybe true, but still, no one is getting 32kb/s through http downloads or torrents.

plus 4096/8=512. i only get max 420 using my telkom connection. 4096/8*0.83=424.something.

My speeds from Astra Web is still not higher than 15kB/s. I have been downloading a 1.5G file for the past 2 days and its only on 62% now.

What i thing DC should do is remove all the 512ers and 4meggers out the spicy package. I think they are spoiling everything. IMHO

That is by FAR the dumbest thing I've head.

Confused2009,

I think you are confused. Why should I be responsible to shape usage, that job sits with the ISP selling that service.

I use chilli just on astraweb, at slow speeds, and the other 3.5MB of my line on aother accoounts for all other browsing.

so why should i not be allowed to use a supposedly limmited service on my line?

+1

It's not limited. People with 4 meg lines are pulling 70kBps AVERAGE. What does that leave us 384k'ers with?
