DigiChilli January Status and feedback

A SAT3 Telkom Cable broke so all international websites all round will be down for most ISPs, local websites are fine to browse

On my 384k line I have played BF2 totally smoothly many many times. I have kept tabs on the amount of data it uses and it is 40mb per hour, 256k can supply ~110mb per hour. It's more than enough bandwidth.

I don't see how it could have started requiring more these days than it did several months ago?
 
same day as usual nothing works, except now i can only do minimal browsing.. not even fb wants to play nice on dc

Might be smooth for local play not for international play where i have to admin

SPICY - only R300 per month
Uncapped,Unthrottled one concurrent data connection for general user for only R300 per month.


Up to speed of 256 kbps.


Up to speed of 256kbs..come the h e dubles stix on! something smellz very wrong here.. along with the uhm's er's , we're working on it and general no comment from Dave....

Well duh, you never said anything about international before. :D You don't "have" to admin internationally do you? If it's that important to you you will have to pay more I guess.

Afaik international play on just about any game is useless due to latency regardless of speed?

The reason for the "Up to" being implemented was VERY LIKELY because of the one wonderful bastard who apparently reported them as giving false advertising. (Can't remember who but he/she/it was bragging about such an event in this very thread)

Can't blame them for trying to cover their asses though I do blame the impatient user who rather, than realise it's a technical difficulty, immediately assumes it's nefarious fraud of some sort.
 
guys im triing to figure out whats going on does your adsl drop every now and the like in every 2-6 hours??? mine keeps going down then i have to restart the router???
 
my alaskan fishing download got to 42% an then... nothing.. d/load stopped dead. had to reload an guess what... started at 1%

:wtf: Wait so back in the day, when they were not delivering those speeds, yet advertised they were. You don't think it was false advertising:confused:
