My torrents are cruising around 20kB/s (international download). I average around 40kB/s for uploads but this is mostly for local torrents. In fact they haven't noticed that I'm d/l pr0n so my pr0n and non-pr0n are downloading at about the same rate

My Steam has been downloading at a healthy 20kB/s and apparently peaked at 187kB/s sometime during the night.

Local browsing seems absolutely perfect and accessing my GMail account via the web seems fairly quick. Every once in a while I wait for a couple of seconds for a message to open, but my GTalk is connecting and messages go through fine.

According to http://userstats.adsl.saix.net/ I have managed to download 21.35GB and upload 26.66GB since 08/12. Even with all the outages and issues my average download rate has been 16.2kB/s and upload has been 20.2kB/s. :)

Local site browsing is fast.
Int browsing is very sluggish and times out often.
Downloads from http going @ +- 8KB for the last 2 days.
Torrents going @ +- 3KB for the last 2 days.
MSN and google talk wont connect.

By the time this episode is done, it will have already been aired on MNET :frown:

I am (hopefully will stay) getting very good speeds on torrents and browsing but Steam is sluggish and News servers are dead in the water... :(

Over 12 hours to download a 230mb update from steam.

Pinging www.google.com often results in timeouts.

Even this website is timing out now.

Local latency keeps spiking up to about 300.

Other than steam and some other games being able to log in, nothing has really changed. Everything is still slow here.

Your upstream provider is teh suck. 6 days of problems is an awful response time.

But steam is actually working?!

You're lucky! I've had to PM Dave on the two occassions I have e-mailed support, because I never received a reply...

Dunno what I did to deserve it

This is what I've tested and gotten thusfar:

Local person to person FTP: Used to be fast, has gotten pretty sluggish now
Intl ftp: Average 2KBps, max 6KBps
Intl torrents: 15KBps (well seeded torrent)
Local: not really tried, but didn't notice a problem
Youtube/intl http: 5KBps

Going great this side...done 3 GB for the day so far...just on giga news, stopped using rapidshare, keeps timing out, hope they haven't throttle that url. torrents going as well.

anyhows, going to the farm so merry xmas guys!!

Xmas in Torrentsville! Doing well here too, for the past 22 hours or so. Average 35KB/s.
Thanks Digichilli! Merry Xmas everyone.

I've had about ~25KB/s for an hour or two earlier this morning on torrents, but that dipped down to 5KB/s not too long ago, and my local also took a dip, because I'm struggling to open MyBB on occasions.

And WTF is up with all this x-hourly session resets? It's killing my internet the whole time!
21604 <== the amount of seconds my internet is connected before being reset. Started yesterday at 00:00... and before that it was every 14000-odd seconds.

Those are happening to me as well, ages to dowlnoad something that then breaks 'cos the connection drops. Sad.

why am i gettin such low speeds? the highest it went is about 13KBps, and that was only for a short time

what line is that on?

It seems that we still have a situation where some people are getting semi-decent access whilst others have none. What could explain this Dave?

I am getting roughly 10KB/s on nntp

Finally - after 3 weeks I manage to complete a download :) 1.5 gig legal torrent :p Took me over a day though

I cant seem to download linuxmint 8 from a local ftp. I get an " illegal port command' error. Using Internet download manager. oh well.. thanks to the resume feature :)

Well, cancelled Telkom and zaconnect ADSL accounts today.

Bought 3GB Afrihost prepaid.

Now waiting anxiously for Dave and his team to sort things out before I sign up with DigiChilli.

Should I be worried?
