DigiChilli Network Status

Hmmmmm still great (multi-threaded http) download speeds on my side here....in fact other than the day we had some shaping server trouble (and a few issues getting ftp to connect) I've had great performance all-round.

I really do wonder what the cause for the users who aren't getting such joy is though......(assuming they too are going the multi-threaded http route)....

Then that doesnt help me one bit, I may as well look for another ISP. From wat I was told, minimum 256k burstable up to 4mbs. Even 512k is too slow for me on a 4mbs. Looks like I'll go back to capped and just topup, atleast i get full line speed.

dude pm your details to dave he will sort it out,had the same problem was sorted in 10min,still torrents is up to ****

I will be happy if I get my full R300 package speed and burstable to 512 but still not happening ,im going stick it out with these guys ,I think all this **** is gonna be solved soon(I hope)

My speed seems fine guys, restart your modems. (turn them off for 10 min and then on again)

Gotten 6gb in the last 2 days on 384, Browsing is a bit slow but download are fine :)

Yes, Why are people expecting 4mb speeds on a R300 package?

I'll restart my router quik and check if my downlaods are better

BTW was that 6gig torrents?

4.5 torrents and a few large http downloads from my server in the states. :)
 
My experience with DC so far:

I have a 4Mbps line and am on the 256k (R300) package. Until yesterday morning I also had some difficulties with downloading, browsing, speeds etc.

Since the last time I restarted my router I have managed to download one of my Steam games in its entirety for a total of 5GB. The download peaked at 400KB/s and averaged around 280KB/s.

Last night my wife spent time on Facebook and I did just ordinary browsing. Speed was not bad and my wife was unable to tell the difference between the speed on my Axxess account and the DC account.

My torrents never lift above 10KB/s for downloads but the uploads regularly exceed 50KB/s.

My ADSL user statistics shows that since yesterday I have downloaded around 5.3GB and uploaded 1.7GB.

For reference my IP is on the 196.44.64.x range and I'm using the Google DNS servers.

I must also comment on the fact on Friday, when I was unable to access my account I sent a single email to the support address, within minutes got a response requesting that I send my details to the accounts email address. I did that and within 5 minutes Chantal had phoned back.

I hope everyone else also starts receiving this kind of responses from their DC accounts. I am not posting this to gloat, but to point out that DC is busy sorting out the problems and as far as I can see the service is pretty good once it gets going.

Good luck to other Chilli users out there. I'm holding thumbs for you guys.

I know some kind of limiting needs to be in place to keep the massive downloaders in check, but shouldn't they be limited to their assigned line speed, rather than crippling certain (most) protocols?

What appeals to me about Digichilli is a R300 account that I can do whatever I like with. Personally I don't use torrents or news servers, but it should be an option. I know you guys are still working on the shaping (well I hope so), but the current approach defeats your stated purpose of selling bandwidth not GBs.

Bandwidth is all very well, but I'd rather be limited to 5GBs of whatever I want than unlimited HTTP and nothing else. I know the service is still a work in progress, but its critical that the shaping is sorted out.

Be quicker to download overseas and get a friend to post it :) Wonder if Wilson does overseas deliveries :p Think I've managed to download about 30-40 megs since getting my acount early last week.
