Up until last week sometime, connection would stay up for days, or when it dropped, router would sort it out and reconnect. Since the start of September I've had daily disconnections , between 7 & 8 in the morning (cause tcpiq stops at 7 and doesn't reflect results at 8), with the router failing to connect. A manual connect via the router/browser, when I get home, works. Anyone else having this ?

Exactly the same problem! Everything exact.

Generally though I am unable to reconnect straight away, have to wait 5 to 15 minutes or so before I can reconnect. i.e. auto reconnect reaches its retry limit and just sits there.

(MyWi 256 - Woodmead tower)

Will keep an eye on this for a little while longer. Can't remember if happened over the weekend though. UN, when you say exact same prob, does that include the "from September" issue as well ?

Having the same problem here, quite annoying actually. Thought it was just because of the weather we have been having in JHB (clouds etc) but it seems that I am not alone.

Johannesburg - Honeyhills tower.
No issues experienced.

Pretoria - Sunnyside tower.
Disconnections as described above.

Exact same problem: Currrently have an average up time of less than 2 hours om my Sentech: Connecting to Sunnyside tower.

As I am using the unsupported linux drivers, and something is still funny, this means each drop I have to MANUALLY switch of my modem, restart pppd en restart the firewall.

I absolutely can't do any work at the moment - I am using a VPN for work which uses no-ip's dynamic ip solution for an ip address. Each time I get dropped I have to wait for the dns to update before I can connect to the VPN.

This is pathetic, and, strangely enough, not suprising at all.

I reported this 3 times already, the best response was --> uuhhm, say, to which tower are you connecting ?

This is after the email was titles 'Very bad Sunnyside tower'.

Enough said;

08:40 - Connected to pc from the office. IP hasn't changed, tcpiq tested at 8:00.
09:07 - Still up. Didn't check IP, just tcpiq results. Maybe problem has gone away ?

11:05 - Results show on tcpiq for 11:01, but can't reach my pc at the moment
12:28 - tcpiq still updating, pc a no-go. Dyndns might've given up after a drop

Update : Managed to reach my pc, IP got updated at 09:06 AM, so a definite drop, but sorted out by the router (this time), as it should be. tcpiq results every hour on the hour
