Disconnects in CT

For the past hour I've had my net die on me 4 times. SAIX and IS won't work when down but after 10 minutes or so its back.

Anyone else experiencing this? Making it bloody hard to do work :mad:

If you couldn't connect to both SAIX and IS, then the problem might be with your connection to the exchange. If you have a 4mb line, it might not be syncing correctly at 4mb, and the connection could be dropping often.

If this is a problem that just cropped up today though, it is less likely to be sync issues.

You can call Telkom ADSL on that free 0800 number. Their service has been improving recently. They should be able to tell you over the phone whether you are experiencing sync issues, and if so, they can downgrade your line to 3mbps or 2mbps, to sort out the sync issues.

just a note if u were not experiencing problem before today ask them first to recreate the port before dropping your speed

What does this actually mean? I haven't heard of this before - please explain. It seems I might have dropped the speed at a client to 2mbps when maybe it wasn't necessary.
